Knotz: I've got Season1 on DVD

I used to hate eating oatmeal, grapefruit juice, yogurt, broccoli and tomatoes. I eat them all now so it's no biggie for me, just came to like them over the years :cool

I've always been forced to eat, I guess. I can't stand most foods, and I'm vegetarian on top of that so I'm pretty limited in what I eat anyway.
But I was never forced to eat specific things, just eat in general. My parents worried about my health and made me eat, which is understandable, I suppose.

Post Re: "Eat your food!"
I was bit of a fussy eater when i was a kid. My mum never ever forced me physically to eat anything i didnt want to though, i think thats really cruel. She did get quite annoyed ofcourse when i said i didnt like something, but she just sighed and said i better eat as much as i can of what everyone else is eating coz she wasnt going to make anything special for me. And she never did. She has been much more leniant on my little sister though, and it shows, shes alot more chubbier than we were when we were kids. (shes 10 years younger than me) It comes from the fact that she was allowed to eat whatever she wanted, which included softdrink in unnecessary times of the day, and if she didnt like what we were eating for dinner, mum would make her an omelet or nuggets or something else she liked.
Actually I have been to hospital when i was about 4 or 5 because i wasnt eating. I cant remember the exact circumstances, but i was there for a few nights before i got to go home, and they fed me and i got better. I think it might have been an anxiety episode that made me stop eating. I cant remember for sure, but it seems highly likely as i was a very shy kid, and would often feel nauseous when i was nervous. Eventually i started eating again in the hospital coz i was lonely without my family, and being at home was much more comfortable :D

The only time I was 'forced' to eat food i didnt like was when i was in japan. Its really really rude over there to not eat something you're given, and even if i didnt like it my boyfriend told me just to force it down or his mum would be annoyed. Even most japanese are taught from a very young age they have to eat everything, as its a big social faux par to refuse something you are served. I was annoyed, but just took it as part of the culture. Sometimes it was that i didnt like the food, other times it was becuase i was super nervous at the dinner table,(my anxiety) and so felt nauseous. Once, the night after a time i didnt finish my dinner, my bf's mum made a point of asking me if i could eat that night or not saying i should tell them before i start eating so it wouldnt be wasted and someone else could eat it. She said this in front of the whole family, and i felt so ashamed i forced down everything.

Oh god, yes I was forced to eat food. I hated it so much. I usually didn't eat when I felt sick so when I was sick my parents would try to get me to eat and they'd get mad at me if I didn't. I always ended up throwing up.

My mom did and put the food on a spoon then said "Here comes the airplane," then put it in my mouth but I just spit it out.

My parents limited me to candy (just some extra info) and were strict about the things I ate, but the result was that I nowadays almost eat anything, except from oliver beans or whatever they're called.

I was forced to eat when I was little, and I didn't like it back then but now I see it as a very positive thing. It has taught me something important about food, some kind of discipline towards it, which I seem to fail to find in many people nowadays. They just seem to crave, binge and waste.

If I would ever have children, I would impose the same convention to them that my parents imposed on me. Absolutely.

Same. My parents used to force me to eat them, even though they made me gag and sometimes even throw up. My mum thought I was just being a brat. I haven't eaten potatoes in years, and I don't plan to eat them ever again.

I needed restraining rather than forcing. My mom used to call me, the skip, because after eating my own food I'd ask everyone else if they had any they didn't want.
She turned getting fat into a game and always seemed so pleased when I managed to eat ungodly amounts of food.

I was very lucky about this, my parents never forced me and never let anyone else do it.
I think that's the main reason I never had any food-related problem, i just eat what I want to as much as i want to and I'm fine.
I used to force myself to eat only when i was a guest etc, but now I don't do it anymore.

I was never forced to eat anything, my mum some how managed to memorise what each of her 5 children refused to eat so nothing got wasted that way rather than make us eat things we didnt like. maybe its just because there were so many of us and the caos that could ensue.

Yeah, my mum used to make various Chinese concoctions which were supposedly good for us, (such as slimy, hot, barley water and birds nest soup :sick ) and we were forced to drink them, whether we liked it or not. A lot of it when down the sink, but I felt so bad about that because she'd spent ages making it.

I was a very slow eater when I was a child, and was always the last one to finish my food. In school, I was always the last one, or one of the last ones left sitting in the canteen, as I picked away at my packed lunch. I'm not sure why I was such a slow eater, but I was forced to finish what was on my plate every time.
I'm not a slow eater any more - If I'm hungry, I'll scarf it down in 10 seconds flat haha.

Post Re: "Eat your food!"
There were a couple of events.

One was when i was in kindergarden. Me and my brother were at some lady's house (she was babysitting us) and she made us tuna sandwiches. I didnt really like it, but she served nothing else really so I ate it. But one time, i said i didnt want it. When i did, she said I ate it before and i could eat it now. I still didnt want it, so she decided to whoop me and not give me anything at all then put me into time out until my mom came. When she did come, the lady told her I was acting up which got me more punishment at home and she decided not to let me go to the fieldtrip my class was gonna have in the next couple of days. (Which meant i had to stay in one of the 4th graders room and do work all day and i even got sick while i was there)

Another event was i was at my grandfathers house with my dad eating lunch. I think it was chicken and mac and cheese and turnip greens and sweet potatoes. I ate everything else, even the greens since i like those, but i dare not touch the sweet potatoes. The smell of them makes me feel like puking. He wanted me to finish then, but i thought he knew how much I hated them. He said that i had to finish it all and that if i didn't/or if i puked them up, i would get in trouble. So i took one chunk and gaged, the second one hurt my stomach and after 3 more bites there was no way i could keep it down. After coming out of the bathroom, he gave me one good spanking. And if it wasn't bad enough, he took me back to the table to finish then! (I still do not understand why he did that and he may be able to come up with a reason, but i dont care. I still don't think it was right. Its not like i asked for them)

Sorry its so long!

They forced me several times. My parents made me sit at the table until I finished everything (which also meant I couldn't watch any TV). They laughed at me as well. I never understood why they did this, as I wasn't a picky eater. There were only a few foods I didn't like and refused to eat (like Brussels sprouts or some meats), but generally I'd eat what was on my plate.

Post Re: "Eat your food!"
Ugh reading this thread made me remember lots of ugly occasions where I've been forced to eat.
I'll spoiler the disgusting bits.
(Nothing I experienced will ever come close to having to eat weevils, tho. Ew)

I was very thin when I was small and ate little, because I simply wasn't hungry (in retrospective I suppose this might have been caused by me having quite a few gastric ulcers when I was young. At that time however I didn't know I had them - I thought I was just imagining the pain, because my parents told me that I wasn't ill and just pretending to have a stomachache because I wanted attention/didn't want to help with the housework. I was about 5 when it started so I believed them.)
Of course there was a bit of trouble about me eating but it was mostly harmless until my father told my stepmother she was fat. That was when things started to get nasty for me because I was thin, while she wasn't.
Aside from the usual 'stay till you've eaten, even if you sit here till the next mealtime', being excluded from all social events, threats, shouts and slaps-in-the-face, my stepmother would come up with lots of little 'games' to make me eat.
It started with her setting a watch to 5 minutes. If I hadn't finished when the time was up, she would make my father beat me up, add another (small) serving to my plate and set the clock again.
Next was convincing me that she would start scratching out the insides of my throat with a little spoon-like looking tool with a razor she used to get rid of the dead skin on her feet, to widen my oesophagus. I believed her :hot
. After that she started to blend my food, so I got to eat only weird semi-liquid stuff for a year (Iwasn't allowed to eat solid food).
Then she started simply ramming stuff into my mouth and forcing it down.
I remember one occasion where I vomited. She beat me up for it and shouted for a while, after that she made me eat my (then almost cold) vomit, then beat me up some more.

After that she started chewing stuff for me, then spat it on a spoon and made me eat that too. She only did that a few times, tho.

The worst thing about all this was, that my stepmother enjoyed it immensely and would even laugh and joke about it on occasion. That really got me.
After five or six years of this I simply started eating out of desperation. Today I'm fat. :'(

Meh sorry for such a long pity-party-post, but I had to get that off my chest.

I'm always having to force myself to eat. I will go 16-24 hours at a time without eating much; maybe a couple bites and I feel full. Lost weight, unfortunately and could be borderline underweight for my 5'8" height. Last time I weighed myself, I was at 150lbs...that was a while back. I can tell by having not only to wear a belt with my pants, but noticing that I have to tighten it another notch. I do worry about my health enough to eat healthy foods and avoid junk.
