What was your first video game console/cabinet?
The question is simple: What was your first video game console or game cabinet?
What was your favorite game? (console only)
My first game was a Baby Pac-man cabinet that my uncle gave to me for my 4th birthday. That was where it all started, and less then a year later I was purchased both a NES and a SNES.
So, next?

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
The first console I encountered was an Atari 2600, it was my fathers but after I figured out how to work the thing it quickly became mine. Since it came with a few games, I can't really recall the first game I played, but I think it was Yars' Revenge, which became my favorite for the system. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ1Qg-Ny75g

An NES. I remember being 2-3 and playing Mario for the first time. Shit changed my life. I think we only had 3 games. Mario, Adventures Of Lolo, and Chippendale's Rescue Rangers. I still play those a lot.

This: Only it wasn't a real ATARI 2600. It was a knock-off, but it played all the games. I was never a gamer, and got bored very easily. My favorite was Space Invaders.

the first console i encountered was an Commodore Amiga 500 , i had the first monkey island game, hybris and savage and a few others i can barely remember. After that i think it was a gameboy (the first one, non colour) and then a playstation one with rayman and point blank.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
My first console was a SNES with Yoshi's Island and Mario Kart. Shortly after that, I got a N64 with Mario N64. Unfortunately I was too egoistic and cared more about the 3D-games for N64, so I haven't got many SNES games.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
My dad had an Atari that he may have purchased in the 70's. He liked video-games a lot. It's what I was first exposed to and played as a kid, but I also played NES quite a bit, mostly Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 3, and Duck Hunt. Not sure if my dad ever owned an NES or not, but I remember playing it, and watching others play it. My first "real" console was a Super Nintendo, since it wasn't borrowed, and I played it all the time. SNES was also what I'd consider as being the console that people my age grew up with. I still consider the SNES as being one of the best consoles of all-time - it definitely spawned more classics than N64, although N64 had a few games that I'd put in my top 5 list of the greatest games of all-time. NES was great, but still, there were less classics for it than there was for SNES.

River City Ransom and Final Fantasy I. Best RPG's ever, enough said. Yeah, SNES was better but you can't beat the classics.

NES. I only own 2 games for it though (SMB & SMB3) because my parents refused to spend $50 on a game.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
NES with Super Mario Bros. but I hardly count that since it wasn't especially mine or anything. the first console that was actually all mine was the SNES *__* all I had for a while was Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World, but that was okay. I was playing Mario Kart on an emulator earlier... I still fail at the grand prix.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
I miss Sega. My first game console was probably a NES, but I didn't really play it much. I got a Nintendo 64 and played Mortal Kombat 4 and Super Mario64 on it a lot.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
My first games console was a Sega Saturn (it wasn't officially mine I had to share it with my sisters, which sucked). The first game I remember playing on it was some Alien FPS, which I don't know the name of. Good times.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
My first console was the NES, and my first game was Legend of Zelda. Of course by brother, being older claimed it was his, and never let me play it. He would only let me play DuckHunt when our cousins came over to show he was not a complete jerk.

Re: What was your first video game console/cabinet?
the first video game console I ever had was the Atari 2600. Funny thing is, my parents didn't buy for me in the beginning, they bought it for themselves. My mom was really into space invaders and my dad was seriously into video games at the time and at that point, own a lot of other game consoles that came before it (he even owned a pong machine which he admitted was an dumb impulse buy when he was drunk on his 21st birthday).
despite that, I played that thing like nobody's business. To this day, I don't think anyone can touch me at Space Invaders.
