I associate certain songs with certain animes, webcomics, roleplays and forums... usually because I'll be listening to a certain tune while surfing/browsing/lurking/playing.
So, I picked up a tune and I realized how bad this one song reminded me of hikiculture. It was kind of scary how I was suddenly set into the mentality of lurking HC because of this one song.
So, what songs remind you of HC?

This song does. Not because its lyrics have anything to do with HC, it just happened to be the song I was listening to when I joined.
The Dandy Warhols - Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth (1996)

and
Kentucky Rain by Elvis Presley:
These songs remind me of HikiCulture because, during the Summer I created HC, I listened to them a lot.

Re: Tunes that remind you of HikiCulture
Alberi, I agree your addition of 'Eleanor Rigby' really strikes the nail on its head. It's a great tune and seems befitting from what I remember of it (I haven't heard it in awhile).
I know some have listed what they were listening to when they first signed up for HC...for which there's some correlation, undoubtedly. Likewise, I was casually listening to some tunes when I came across this forum and subsequently decided to join a few days ago, and I did make a note of what those songs were:
'Kashmir' Led Zeppelin "Physical Graffiti" (1975)
'Black' Pearl Jam "Ten" (1991)(debut)
'Against the Wind' Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band "Against the Wind" (1980)
'Runnin With the Devil' Van Halen "Van Halen" (1978)
So, for me it's those. For now. I'm too new here for anything to remind me especially of this forum just yet. As I interpret this thread, we are supposed to list the song(s) which remind us of this forum and its community, specifically how we feel when we come and spend some time here. Right? Yeah, I don't have one of those songs yet . . .

I think I may be overthinking it a tad. I don't know. Ah.
Dream, I really like the quotes you have in your signature.

Thank you katrock, that's very nice of you . some of them i keep them to remind me of what they say, kind of like a tattoo. By the way, i don't think you shouldn't worry too much about overthinking it, if you feel one song that resonates with you in this, you'll know.

You're welcome. Yeah, I didn't say it just to be nice -- I said it because I meant it. If I happen to read someone's signature and find what's there intriguing or awesome in some way, I'm gonna say so. I usually don't read too many sigs, but yours written in a nonlinear way made em stand out. Do you have tats?

Glad to hear it, i feel unique thanks to it, thanks . By the way, yeah, i though it would be interesting to set the signature in a non-linear way, at first i wanted to give it an equilibrium of composition. No, i don't have any tattoos, i've been a bit tempted but i'm not too sure, i can't think of a tattoo that i would like so much to get it in my skin, that i will always want, since they last forever.

Re: Tunes that remind you of HikiCulture
Well... I feel this one is totally apt...
So Far Away -- Carole King
So far away Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're just time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood Holding you again could only do me good Oh, how I wish I could But you're so far away
One more song about moving along the highway Can't say much of anything that's new If I could only work this life out my way I'd rather spend it being close to you
But you're so far away Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're so far away
Traveling around sure gets me down and lonely Nothing else to do but close my mind I sure hope the road don't come to own me There's so many dreams I've yet to find
But you're so far away Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're so far away

Re: Tunes that remind you of HikiCulture
Hmm... absolutely:
Name -- Goo Goo Dolls -- 1995 (random fact: this band formed in '85 in Buffalo -- just like me)
And even though the moment passed me by I still can't turn away Cause all the dreams you never thought you'd lose Got tossed along the way And letters that you never meant to send Get lost or thrown away
And now we're grown up orphans That never knew their names We don't belong to no one That's a shame But if you could hide beside me Maybe for a while And I won't tell no one your name
And I won't tell em your name
Scars are souvenirs you never lose The past is never far Did you lose yourself somewhere out there Did you get to be a star And don't it make you sad to know that life Is more than who we are
You grew up way too fast And now there's nothing to believe And reruns all become our history A tired song keeps playing on a tired radio And I won't tell no one your name And I won't tell em your name
I think about you all the time But I don't need the same It's lonely where you are come back down And I won't tell em your name
Oh, not that I like this song very much, but:

Re: Tunes that remind you of HikiCulture
I was thinking of adding 1965's popular 'California Dreamin' by The Mamas and The Papas from the album 'If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears' but that one's too up-beat for the thread...I haven't heard it sung differently than the original, so.
Adding: 'Sister Golden Hair' - America - 'Hearts' (1975)
Well I tried to make it Sunday, but I got so damn depressed That I set my sights on Monday and I got myself undressed I ain't ready for the altar but I do agree there's times When a woman sure can be a friend of mine
Well, I keep on thinkin' 'bout you, Sister Golden Hair surprise And I just can't live without you; can't you see it in my eyes? I've been one poor correspondent, and I've been too, too hard to find But it doesn't mean you ain't been on my mind
Will you meet me in the middle, will you meet me in the air? Will you love me just a little, just enough to show you care? Well I tried to fake it, I don't mind sayin', I just can't make it

Doo wop doo wop ...
Ha, ha... just after '2:00' I first thought he said, 'Well, Bitch...see it in my eyes.' . . . instead of 'Can't you see it in my eyes?'. But I know that wouldn't happen -- this isn't Lil Wayne or the like. Hee. Not that I don't like me some lil weezy.
Words CAN NOT describe how AWESOME this next song is. I absolutely love it! Gotta mix it the fuck up in here. Oh, you're welcome.
'Sober' - Tool - "Undertow" (1993)(debut)
There's a shadow just behind me, shrouding every step I take, making every promise empty, pointing every finger at me. Waiting like a stalking viper who upon the finger rests. Murder now the path is must we just because the son has come.
Jesus, won't you fucking whistle something but the past and done? (x2)
Why can't we not be sober? I just want to start this over. Why can't we dream forever? I just want to start things over.
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave, I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.
Mother Mary won't you whisper something but the past and done. (x2)
Why can't we not be sober? I Just want to start this over. Why can't we sleep forever? I Just want to start things over.
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
Trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me. Trust Me.
Why can't we not be sober? I Just want to start things over. Why can't we sleep forever? I Just want to start this over.
I want what I want. I want what I want. I want what I want. I want what I want.
Fuckin hell of a debut. Oh, my god. Someone better like these songs!
