Post Junk Food Thread
Junk food is essentially food of little or no nutritional value. Mmmm.
So, include whatever you like to snack on while you're watching movies, surfing the net, or not up for making dinner, as long as its unhealthy. (Potato chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, burgers, pop, popcorn, ice cream, french fries, chocolate, and so on. )

I'm going to start off with chips.
I have three chip- type junk foods to share. They are all made of cornmeal, because I really like cornmeal-based chips. Haha.

Munchos : Potato Crisps
Really salty! But so good. They have the most unusual texture ever. They are hard to find in some parts of Canada and the United States I've heard..but they are sold predominately in Ontario, where I live. Are they in the UK?
Image

Funyuns: Onion Flavoured Corn Snack
So incredibly delicious. I tried them for the first time last year when I was in the States. Unfortunately, I can't find them anywhere in Canada! They are a true comfort food! (I've only had them once, though.)
Image

Crunchy Cheetos: Cheese Flavoured Cornmeal Snack
Puff Cheetos are a close second, but not as good as the crunchy ones! I just love the taste, and the crunch.
Image

Okay, I will accept contributions of healthful food as long as they look/sound delicious.

I live in a more Asian community, so I'm going to have to say...
ChaCha Sunflower Seeds, Spiced flavor ONLY. I actually don't like any other flavor, and only from that specific manufacturer.

I also enjoy seaweed. Lots and lots of seaweed. And dried and shredded cuttlefish, but those are actually nutrition.

Oh my God! I'm a vegetarian and that sandwich looks incredible ...

Poutine!! - french fries topped with soft, melting cheese curds and fresh gravy!
Image

Also, french fries and mayo! (Never tried this, but it looks good!)
Image

I really like french fries, but I don't get them often because then I'd have to be at the gym 24/7 haha

LOL. I saw this movie again the other day.
The Rex Kwon Do scene still cracks me up the most.

Oh my God, Sriracha! Makes everything so delicious. I first tried it when I had Pho for the first time. It's becoming as common place as soy sauce now ... everyone has it in their homes! This was definitely not the case a year ago!
And yeah, +1 for Pizza Rolls .. little balls of perfection!

Knots: You are killing me with the delicious photos. Soft serve ice cream is like, ridiculous.

Chicago Deep Dish Pizza! I've never actually tried this! There is way too much cheese in that photo... I'm not sure if it would taste as good as it looks.

New York Pizza - My favourite style -- cheese only please!

And dessert! Dairy Queen's Brownie Earthquake sundae!!

I've tried East Coast imitations of Chicago Deep Dish, but I'm sure there's no comparison to
the real thing. I thought it was tasty, but like you, prefer NY (NJ!) style. Chicagoans get riled up
when you tell them their version is not actually pizza, but a tomato and cheese casserole. :laugh

Hahaha! Tomato and Cheese Casserole! That is so accurate. And disturbing. I really do love cheese though, it makes everything taste good. Speaking of cheese ...

Grilled Cheese! I'm sure this could be healthy in moderation .. but I think I eat them a little too often.

if you're going to go with deep dish chicago style, then go with either Lou malnati's who can ship thier pies or consider creating it yourself. for me, deep dish is where it's at, and it's not a casserole but a pizza pie. i make pizza at home a lot and have to say while new york style is alright i prefer a thin crust to be crisp and the slices to be cut into squares. Chicagoans are passionate about thier food, what else can i say? speaking of chicago style, this is one of my favorite condiments to throw on the pizzas at home, the chicago style giardineria. it's a relish of hot peppers, carrot, cauliflower (sometimes), green olives, onions, garlic and spices. it's easy to make and can go with many things - like ramen.

I must try this! I'm going to try and make it at home. It looks so incredibly versatile, it really would taste incredible with rice, pasta, pizza, anything!

Wow, it's like all my favorite vegetables mixed together. I usually buy those bags of frozen veggies, but that looks so much better.

Anyway, on to the junk food.
Image

My favorite chip flavor since I was a wee lad. I also like funyons, but I had no idea that's what you called them. I've always just called them sour cream and onion rings. I think that's what they're called in Canada lol. Funyons definitely has a better ring to it.

1/4 c thinly sliced celery
1/4 cup cauliflower florets (tips), chopped
1/4 c chopped carrots
1/2 sport peppers (these may be hard to find)
3/4 tsp dried oregano, dried basil, & red pepper flake,
2 cloves minced garlic
2 tblsp white wine vinegar
1/2 c olive or vegetable oil
Directions
Combine all vegetables in a bowl, then add garlic and oregano. Stir to distribute, then add vinegar and oil, stirring again. Cover and store in a cool place for 24-48 hours before using. Refrigerate if giardiniera will not be used right after initial sitting time. you can use frozen veggies for this, except for the sport peppers which could be subbed for pepperocinis i suppose if they cannot be found.

have you tried this brand Syppress? the screamin' in the name always makes me laugh in the store when i see it.
