Foods/Food Combinations You Love That Others Don't.
The other day, I was having an online conversation with someone, and I casually remarked that I had to step away to eat. I was met with an awkward length of silence upon telling the other person what I was having.
I like to take a steaming bowl of hot rice and crack two raw eggs on top. After a bit of soy and Sriracha sauce, I whisk it until it becomes a yellowish- brownish, slimy, bubbly bowl of yummy, eggy, ricey gooeyness. I eat this with a side of whatever leftover meats I have in the fridge. Makes for a quick, tasty meal.
So what about you? Are there foods or food combinations that you eat that others find absolutely revolting??
Ketchup on your Captain Crunch anyone? (Not for me, ty.)

That does sound nice, but... raw egg? How's that salmonella working out for you?

You're correct Robby. I am taking a chance of food poisoning every time I eat raw eggs. In the U.S., I've heard it's about 1 out of every 10,000 eggs. I don't eat this too often, but sometimes even the fear of a salmonella infection isn't enough to keep me away.

One that I love but that my family call me crazy when I do it is to make a tuna & mustard sandwich or fried bananas and chilli.
The combination I ate time ago and was kinda lethal for my stomach was boiled eggs and chocolate. I did it while I was in a school camping day, but my teachers had to take me back home 4am and then my parents had to take me to the hospital because I was VERY sick.

I've had a tuna sandwich with mustard a few times. It's not bad at all. The fried bananas and chili sounds like an interesting combo I'd like try. Can't say I'm thinking the same for boiled eggs & chocolate.

Tuna and pickles is probably the weirdest thing I eat, and most people don't find it that odd. Supposedly pregnant women love it. So therefore I'm pregnant.

I must be preggers too because I LOVE tuna with pickles. I like to mix my tuna with diced dill spears, green onions, parsley, a little mayo, salt, pepper and some lemon juice. Makes for a great tuna sandwich. Oh, and can't forget the UTZ potato chips.

That right there is the PERFECT tuna sandwich. Kudos my man. Ever had a tuna melt? You grill the sandwich with cheese inside. The outside is crispy and toasted, while the inside is gooey and warm. I never thought this thread would make me hungry.

OMG, tuna melts ROCK in all its warm gooeyness! Whenever I try to make it though, it comes out a bit soggy. I like this one local deli that does it juuuuust right. And yeah, this thread made me hungry, so I left to go eat and am replying now on a full stomach.

I must be the only one who felt nausea while reading. :P
Seriously - I'm a picky when it's about food. I love well-prepared stuff, not weird ones. But my grandma had weird combinations. She enjoyed noodles with strawberry jam. >_<

Someone once convinced me to try peanut butter and pickles, and I thought it was actually not bad. Keep in mind, I tried it with some excellent kosher dill pickles, and that "natural" type of peanut butter made from only peanuts and salt (I will never eat Skippy and the like again.)

i love green olives right out of the jar. everyone says i'm crazy. my yummy combos that other people think are nasty: steamed sweet potato with cayenne and cinnamon, basil pesto mixed with mayo on my sandwiches, crepes filled with bbq chicken and cheese, steamed broccoli with raisins, honey and banana on waffles, peanut butter on apple slices, french fries dipped into vanilla shake, onigiri filled with jam, swiss cheese on green apple slices. my fav breakfast: 2 waffles with syrup with a slice of ham, a fried egg and cheese in between. i also like to put potato chips in my turkey sandwiches, but i think that's pretty common. and salt on watermelon is common (and delicious) here in the south. i also prefer air-popped popcorn.

I love olives, though I can only eat maybe 2-3 out of the jar. I love them with salads. The crepes filled with bbq chicken and cheese sounds loving awesome. I might be mistaken, but I think you once posted a pic in another thread of your steamed broccoli with raisins? I know a couple people that love green apples with a smear of PB. Ditto for the potato chips on sandwiches. I'd probably have a hard time finding someone that thinks it's downright nasty. It's funny you mentioned the fries dipped in shake. I've recently read several posts on another forum of that being done, though I haven't tried it personally. Replies were surprisingly positive. I don't have shakes too often, but the next time I'm having one with a burger and fries....

I knew someone who also did the french fries and milkshake thing. I thought it was rather odd.

That doesn't sound bad. Kind of like Pad Thai.

I like really hot and spicy food. So hot that no one else will eat it, so there's more for me. Just kidding..
