Mine is "The Outcast" by Attilio Piccirilli. I'm really in love with this one!

 Re: Your favorite sculpture here!
i like it thats really good! heres my favourite at the moment (i dont know much sculptures to be honest). i made this shot with my camera out of a train-door window at 180km/h across a lake on my way home from the swiss border. *pounds his chest like a gorilla* this so called "niederwald denkmal" is germania. she represents victory over the french invaders that tried to conquer "germany" in 1870/71. shes completely made of copper, facing the direction the french invaded from. in one hand she rises the crown of the german kings to sybolize the wealth gained through the alliance of the german tribes, in the other hand she rests on the sword of the german kings to sybolize that war has ended and its time for peace. theres also a hymn to it where the sculpture is praised as the defender at the lake. i love to tell this story xD

The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen I really love her. Have since I was little. I want to see her in real life, someday. I'll be your prince, little mermaid.

 Re: Your favorite sculpture here!
It's my favorite because in spite of being made of stone, it has a softness and lightness that is missing in most ancient sculpture. While there are many great statues from the ancient world, they all have a labored quality -- you can tell that a human being engaged in a great struggle to turn a hunk of stone into a great image. With the Hermes of Praxiteles there is no trace of the artist's struggle with the stone; it appears to have been sculpted effortlessly.
