Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
Sigh. The last time I talked to my bird, I told him I loved him and he weakly chirped back, then died a little later.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
I sometimes talk to myself just to talk with anyone... and sometimes I just want to hear what it sounds like and I talk to the air but I only do that when I am alone. I also talk to my Laptop and my motorcycle. I don't talk much to my stuffed animals anymore. And sometimes I talked to someone who isn't there.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
I really cant help myself than yelling at myself, shouting at me for my stupidity and incompetence, kind of offending me. it's a thing i do out of reflex, my mind goes blank every time i do it. I'm just adapting to what people say and think of me i suppose, its audible self-harm. its just my way to deal with the misery of being trapped in my mind. i also get shout at objects every time they dont work like i want them to work. everyone does it from time to time but i do it in an excessive manner i reckon.

I talk to — argue with, is probably a better way of putting it — imaginary individuals constantly. Talk to myself? Hardly ever anymore. I talk to the cat a lot (when she's there).

I talk to my cat a lot. And...well, to my stuffed animals. I'm 21! Really! I swear! But...how can you not want to talk to tarepanda's all-accepting and unblinking stare? I swear, sometimes it feels like tarepanda is my one and only bestie in the whole wide world. But as to myself...I mostly sing to myself, so I don't think that counts.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
I talk to myself to make sure that I don't become indecisive. In a sense, I talk to myself to finalize my decision on an idea and then keep it moving. Other then that, not much talking to the air, singing to it on the other hand is one thing, and then singing so a song with lrics that don't match seems like me most of the time.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
When I'm bringing myself down, I usually talk in my head. But when I am discussing just about anything else (though its usually anime) I speak outloud to myself. I talk to myself all the time, actually. Don't gotta worry about sounding stupid or trying to keep the conversation going or nothing like that. Feels kinda nice

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
I usually never have conversations with myself. If I talk to myself, it's the run-of-the-mill self reprimands or little incoherent phrases when I'm trying to think or remember something. Today, as I was walking down the street, I caught the eye of a woman waiting at the bus stop ahead and saw that she was staring at me with an odd expression. This unnerved me. But then I realised that it was because my self-talking had become obvious - although I was only uttering things under my breath, I was also nodding and shaking my head, with glances here and there as though I was an actor quietly practising her lines. Think Gollum and Smeagol from LOTR. I thought "shit!" and quickly fumbled for my phone and avoided the gaze of the woman. After I had passed her, I pretended to speak to someone on the phone. However, since I could only carry out one side of the conversation in this way, I ended my fake phone call and continued to talk to myself, only in a more discreet manner. It happened because I was thinking about my life and I was feeling very anxious and lonely, so my alter ego was advising me. Fuck it, I really am a freak Edit: oh wait. On the way back home, there was a person who was singing loudly to themself. So I'm not that crazy after all

Conversations and arguments with myself. I don't tend to talk to inanimate objects.

I talk to myself for what seems like every moment of every day. I don't often talk to inanimate objects though.

Usually when i'm too self-absorbed in my mind and when i think i'm alone. (also sometimes when i write posts on HC i whisper what i'm writing, also when i'm reading a book i usually imagine it being narrated in audio, sometimes i even whisper what i'm reading if i am really enjoying it)

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
it's reassuring to see others are like this as well, i thought i was weird to do this. i tend to speak to myself when alone but i dont speak with objects. there are some occasions where i interact with animals but it would be just to tease them like calling them ugly, fat or stupid as a joke. asides from that, i have conversations and even jokes with myself. so whenever i am alone i don't necessarily feel alone, sure great being my own best friend

I don't talk to objects, but sometimes to myself. However, I'm trying my best to avoid this, since me doesn't like myself very much and we always end up fighting and arguing.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
dont you think its interesting if two people who hear voices would talk to each other, along with the voices that they hear. of course the physical controller will have to say the words for the other but hihihi wont it just be cute.
Hiki: my 'friend' says your dress looks like crap. but dont worry i think its fine Jam: I think you two are just a bunch of sick wackos. but 'she' think yer cool Hiki. so whatever.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
Well, I never thought of this possibility so far. I guess, it would definitely be interesting, but it could get pretty confusing if "one" of them would start a "dialogue" meanwhile, or "both". At this point, there would be at least "4" people arguing. duh However, agreed.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
I know I've already posted here before, but I'd like to add another curious and annoying habit of mine... When I'm stressed out, I also have an irrepressible urge to sing out little snippets of stupid songs. Today it was "this old man/ he played seven/ he played knick knack up in heaven etc etc" I don't know why - it must have been in my head somehow. I didn't even realise when I started doing it. That sounds so, so embarrassing and stupid Because it is. There was no-one around to hear though.

Re: Do you talk to yourself or to inanimate objects?
i tried before em saying what she says in my head and typing em (on another forum) and they didnt take it so well...
but yeah. i would like to try sometime, im always up for a new experience i guess.
like right now she said, like i could type what shed say
poison, well no one heard it so its pretty much ok right. besides, as you said its to cool you off. people do different things to achieve that, some make animal sounds, some sing, some pound their desks, some break things or punch walls(i used to) .. take your pick. but dont feel its stupid its just something we do i guess - especially if its working for you.
