 Re: Music in Different Languages
Mostly english, but japanese is also very great sometimes. And of course german, like Rammstein (that everybody should know) and all those medieval rock bands, very great stuff.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
German, as per Rammstein above, Japanese (JPOP is so happy). Probably Italian/French/Austrian/general operatic languages.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
Probably over 15 languages. There's at least one death metal band in every country, so it's not too hard to do. I'm too lazy to look through my collection and check out the lyrics so it could be more or less. It's probably over 90% English though.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
I know what you mean about American music. I never listened to music that much until I got the internet and heard music from other countries. There'd only be like 1 American song per year that I really liked, and that was in the 80's and 90's. Unfortunately, I'm forced to listen to a lot of crap when I go anywhere in the car with my sister.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
I will listen to anything. If it sounds good, and the lyrics aren't complete trash.
On my computer I have music in: English, Japanese, Korean, German, and Russian.
I prefer English, and Japanese.
I think that is about it. Not that I wouldn't like music in any other languages. I just haven't heard anything of interest in anything else.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
As long as music is good, I'll listen to music in any language. I don't purposely look for music that's sung in particular languages though - that would be stupid.
When it comes to Japanese music, I've only been exposed to Jpop, which I detest. Since 99% of pop doesn't appeal to me, I naturally can't help but despise it. It doesn't matter if pop is sung in a foreign language - it still sucks to me.
I mean "pop" in the usual way - not as in "popular" music.

@Adam, I know what you mean about the car thing, being in the car with any of my relatives is absolute torture on my ears D:
@Chair, what kind of music do you normally like? Jpop I can barely stand, but Jrock has yet to fail me in the 7 years I've known it.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
I've listened to music in quite a few different languages. East-European folk music is pretty good, I think. Still, most of my music is in english.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
My music is mostly in Japanese. Very little of my music is in any other language. I have one song I listen to that's in French, and a few in English. But 90% of it is Japanese or no vocals at all..

 Re: Music in Different Languages
English, Icelandic, Japanese, and I think have a song that's in Russian. I actually tend to enjoy more music with lyrics I don't understand. Like a language I don't speak, or just babble.

 Re: Music in Different Languages
The metal scene tends to be big in non-English speaking countries and although a lot of singers do use English to appeal to a wider audience, there's also many who don't, especially from Eastern Europe, Russia, South America etc, so I must listen to music in dozens of languages, but since the lyrics are rarely that good and of little interest to me, I just enjoy the sound of the language.

I like pop songs much more when they are sung in a foreign language.
