Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
There currently aren't any I suspect I have, but before I found out I had Asperger's, there was a whole pile of them.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I suspect I have HFA or PDD-NOS. I did suspect I had Asperger's until I found out kids with Asperger's apparently don't have any developmental delays, & I did, so that's ruled out, I guess.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I suspect Asperger's or some other autism spectrum disorder. But I've only been officially diagnosed with clinical depression, dysthymia, and social phobia.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Since I've never been able to get any kind of real diagnosis (from physicians who knew what the hell they were doing anyways... or at least tried to do anything other than just throw insults and meds), I'd like to think I haven't been diagnosed with anything yet, and I try then to self-diagnose. I think I have C-PTSD, PTSD (dunno if the former makes the latter redundant, but I'm sure I've had both), Dissociative Disorder NOS, Conversion Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, Avoidant Personality Disorder. Oh, and Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I'm not so sure about some other things that I don't seem to have anymore, but mainly because of the PTSD and the dissociative disorder kind of masking these others: Social Anxiety Disorder (used to be a huge problem), OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, ADD, and personality disorder NOS. I think it all started with the Asperger's and the ADHD, and then the primitive, twisted, sadistic culture and environment I was in beat me down until I became a neurotic wreck... and then when I tried to end it, people only tried to take advantage of this weakness more at unprecedented levels, and then I got the PTSD, and consequently dissociative disorder, and conversion disorder... and this completely empty numbness and haze I'm in right now. I know that on the Experience Project, where I came from, this might be more typical, and hopefully I'm not too weird for this board

ADD, or ADHD predominantly inattentive as it seems to be called now, or even SCT.
Dyscalculia (the only parts of maths I understand is simple artimethics and per cent, and simple graphs, and my level is about 6 th grade, but I have no formal diagnosis.
Dyspraxia. I meet the criteria but I have no official diagnosis.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
HFA or PDD-NOS (even though I am diagnosed with AS) Auditory processing disorder Executive dysfunction Semantic Pragmatic disorder Mild case of social anxiety
But I don't self diagnose so I do not claim to have these.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Well, I was diagnosed with ADHD. Other then that, I probably am depressed, socially anxious, and possibly have bi-polar disorder.
I've also always wondered if I was somewhere on the Schizo line.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I think I have AS. Recently, I've been having a hard time sleeping because I get strange sensations and I see random things, like lights, shapes, and movements that don't actually exist; it can get to the point where I'm almost blinded by it. It isn't usually bad, but it sometimes makes me very scared and last night I spent most of my time staring at a wall hoping it would stop. I don't know what it's called, but my mom says it's related to having bad migraine headaches, which I get, and that a person in my family suffers from it too.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I don't see how that is AS related. AS starts in your early childhood. It doesn't come later in life.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Social anxiety and OCD.
I know for a fact that I have OCD and that it's getting worse as I get older, but it's not to the point yet where it *severely* affects my life. Although...I have certain compulsions while I'm driving, like closing my eyes for a certain number of seconds for a certain number of times...and that's...uh, bad. But I haven't done anything like spending hours washing my hands over and over again., People around me notice it, though.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I couldn't put a label on whatever I have. I feel there's an emotionless and dangerous person inside me and I feel I'm slowly turning inside out to the point that any character I have now or I have had will be pushed further down in me. I've been haunted since I was a child with images of me killing people but now those thoughts don't bother me as much. I'm afraid eventually I'll be a different person then I am now and I may hurt someone.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I don't suspect any. I don't really care for diagnosing mental things. I'm a skeptic in that I think most of it is that we are humans living in an unnatural way, but it's not something I argue about. I also don't care to define myself based on medical terminology.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I'm definite that I have Avoidant Personality Disorder, but I suspect I have Asperger's Syndrome as well. Even after going over the diagnostic criteria on aspergers.com, I'm confident that I have it, but not enough so to go around saying, "yea I have AS." http://www.aspergers.com/aspcrit.htm

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Same for me. I also have AvPD & highly suspect I have Asperger's or another ASD, but I'm not confident enough to actually say I have it since I haven't been tested or diagnosed

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I try to be carefult with self diagnosis, I think that it can be dangerous to oneself, to overly identify in a mental issue and eventually "become" it by semi-conscious imitation of the cited symptoms. But over the years I've pinpointed my recurring issues in the defined contexts of a mild Avoidant and/or Schizoid disorder.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
After paying close attention to my behaviour in social situations and reading up on AvPD, I think there is a good chance I have been misdiagnosed with AS.
I make eye contact with people, I experience empathy, I do not have restricted interests and I have no problem reading body language. Seriously, the more I read up on Asperger's the less it makes sense. I definitely have some sort of anxiety disorder - I mean, I'm clearly not normal. AvPD seems to describe me pretty well - down to a T, in fact. I'm not afraid of people because I don't understand them, I'm afraid of them because I feel inferior to them. I'm pathetically sensitive to criticism and my self-esteem is extremely fragile. The slightest thing can send me into a spiral of depression and self-loathing. When I'm in public, I'm paranoid about what people think of me and I always assume that everyone is thinking the worst.
It just makes it worse that whenever I try to talk to my parents about it, they completely dismiss it and put it down the fact that I'm an 'Aspie'. They don't understand how much my anxiety affects my life. I've tried talking to my mum about the possibility of a misdiagnosis but she won't even discuss it with me.

Hey guys! Turns out that my self-diagnosis is correct. I was recently diagnosed with some bad depression.

Same. l was thinking l have an eating disorder of some kind. Perhaps some anxiety. My doctor says they all relate back to my depression so she's just lumping into one diagnosis. l hope you're getting help along with your diagnosis. We're here for you whenever you need!
