Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I wouldn't call that a disorder, but I can see myself in that as well. I consider myself to be quite a mature person, but I still feel the same as I did when I was young. Especially when a great game comes out and I play it for the first time. I think it's a good thing to be this way.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Strictly speaking, the puer aeternus is not a disorder, but an archetype, accordingt o the Jungian school of psychology from which the concept comes. It is a style of being that is embodied in a greater or lesser degree in everyone. It is one style of being alongside other styles of being that are 'pathological' based primarily on cultural norms. In some primitive tribes, for example, it would be considered a sign of mental instability not to be obsessive-compulsive in personality. In our culture the puer aeternus is both frowned upon and revered. Since the attraction to the puer aeternus as a celebration of youthul vitality, purity, and innocence, it shows that it does have a real life-affirming, and positive value. Of course, given varying personal circumstances and social conditions, pursuing the path of the eternal puer CAN be disadvantageous.

l can't imagine a grown up Adam. Have you ever worn a suit and tie before? Now that's something l'd like to see. My doctor suspects l may have pre menstrual disorder where my pms greatly affects my hormonal levels causing emotional instability, headaches, cramps, cravings, etc (kind of similar to pregnancy l guess). lt's troublesome and may go on til my period ends. l somewhat welcome menopause now l always flirted with the idea that l was bipolar. Though, l am pretty sure now l am just being a woman

I think I'm in a grey area between NT and Asperger's. I definitely have some aspie traits but I don't know if it's enough to get diagnosed. I also have a mild form of social anxiety.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I kind of feel paranoid I guess. I often think someone is behind me, just by a noise (like when someone walks by my door) I always look back. I often look back for no real reason at all. Also, I often wake up from my sleep because I hear someone whisper into my ear and someone standing right next to my bed, but then realize that nobody is there. Happened quite often these days.

Turns out I was schizo. It makes sense too. I still think that I might also have an ASD, but my psych report didn't say I had it and only one of the several doctors I've seen suggested I have AS. I took Risperdal, but the side effects messed me up; I start taking Seroquel in a few days.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
bipolar and minor paranoid traits, I would say
maybe aspergers, but on the other hand, aspergers is a very attractive disorder to label yourself with to anyone who owns some anti-social-traits (more or less).my opinion is, that in not many cases the conformity of your characteristic traits and the asperger-characteristics that are described in the wiki-page is reason enough to be convinced that you have a "real" disorder(and that you can't do anything about it, to make things better).

I forget what it is called, but i think I have the disorder where my anxiety shows up in illnesses. I get fevers and bad headaches as well as I become nauseous, I can't keep food down, I can't eat, etc...

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Yes, I think so. Once I got very bad, feverish headaches and I had to be CAT scann'd for brain tumors but nothing... I also have signs of heat stroke whenever I'm in a stressful situation, even in the middle of winter. Albeit none of my illnesses last for several years, they are common and recurring.

This seems like me too. Michael Jackson was probably like that too, and to a degree Adolf Hitler.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I have been pondering about something called delayed sleep phase syndrome. It seems to describe my sleeping habits (and problems) quite thoroughly. I have trouble falling asleep before 3 or 4 am, and if I could, I would exceed my 1 pm waking up time. Waking up earlier and going to bed earlier won't have any effect, the routine won't change. I don't think it's merely a problem of a messed up sleeping times for me, because I've had these kind of problems for some 14 years.
Even if I would have this problem, I don't think it will ever be specifically treated or put on the papers because my doctor considers the sleeping problems to be a cause of mental health problems, which might or might not be the case. Outcome is the same anyway, I cannot sleep and most medications either don't help or can't be used long term. Nevertheless, I'm glad to know that potentially I'm not the only one who always feels tired because they can't fit their (involuntarily formed) sleeping routine into the every day life and expectations of others.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I also believe this. People are just the way they are and when it comes to personality disorders, well that's just the way you are - labelling it I believe may make it more of a problem, when there may just perhaps be certain behaviours/difficulties you need to deal with or defeat. I have exactly these problems as well. I've just been diagnosed with GAD which I pay less attention to than I do with generally trying to fix my broken brain bones.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
This is how I feel. I also feel that lots of disorders aren't real at all and are petty labels. It bothers me when doctors diagnose people with all sorts of disorders that they likely don't have, put them on drugs and watch them become more fucked up than they were before going on the meds. "It sounds like you have this, you could have this, I think you have this and you might also have this. Here - take these fucking pills and get the fuck out of my fucking face." I've had psychologists and psychiatrists actually imply to me that I could be schizophrenic, when I insisted that I don't see or hear shit that isn't there, but they still opened up the possibility of it. Seriously - WTF is up with these fucking people?

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I have been diagnosed with unipolar depression with recurring major depressive episodes, but I think I sort of missed the boat on panic disorder. Much like the depression, the panic attacks ebb and flow. I'll go a few months without having any then start having them every day again for a month. I wouldn't call it anxiety, because I'm not usually exceptionally anxious, I just flip out on occasion and think I'm dying and work myself into a tizzy every so often. I'm sure during my next flare up I'll get that one put on the list. I am also sort of glad that my doctors haven't unearthed the self-injury yet, otherwise they'd probably go slap the Borderline Personality stigma on me just because I self-injure. Some might say I have binge eating disorder, most just call me a fatty. I'm also a sleepwalker/eater/drinker/talker, but I think everyone has a little of that. Though it's sort of annoying when you wake up and find that the delicious bottle of melon soda in your closet has been consumed in your sleep and you don't get to savor it. : /

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I only have a minor selective social anxiety disorder. It used to be bad but over the years bits of it are chipping away. I feel anxious now when all attention is on me eg. presentations and only when I'm alone on it. And whenever someone is behind me I feel they are watching me.. That plus no luck in life aka 'god hates me disorder' which to be honest could almost single handedly make me reclusive.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
Oh. Fucking THIS! I have had my thyroid tested like nine million times but I swear to god there has to be something wrong with it. I have every single trait of hypothyroidism other than my weird super-heat. Which means of course I can't have it despite my extremely slow heartbeat, insanely slow metabolism, brittle nails and hair, constant fatigue, and constant depression. ...maybe I just wish I had this because then I could take some damn meds to fix these problems instead of it just being random traits that refuse to change no matter what I do.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
A competent psychiatrist would diagnose with me with Schizoid Personality Disorder, though like FONEternal and Chair I think that psychiatric labels are garbage. One of the reasons I visit this site is precisely because it isn't heavy on psychiatric labels. I like that this is 'a forum for reclusive people' rather than "a forum for people with Schizoid Personality Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome and other associated disorders'. I find these terms so repulsive that I refuse to join any site that identifies its membership primarily in terms of psychiatric labels.

Re: Are there any disorders you suspect you have?
I would probably fit into the AvPD category. Especially based on "self-imposed isolation" being a primary indicator. But my self-imposed isolation isn't fully caused by anxiety (although I definitely have social anxiety) or low self-esteem or high self-consciousness etc., it's also due to me just being a mega-introvert - i.e. personality trait, no disorder. But yeah, I couldn't really object to the AvPD label.
