I've recently watched No Country for Old Men, Zodiac and Seven, in that order, because they were all on TV. All three have very anticlimactic endings. What's up with that?

Haha, maybe that was the theme they were going for? Unless they were on different channels? :dunno

Either way, good movies.

"I Can't Think Straight". It was really good. A lot better than I expected.

Solomon Kane (8/10)

I quite liked this movie. It didn't have a really deep plot or a hugely original storyline, but the filming was good, the dialogue was pretty decent for an action movie and the fact that it was a fairly low budget film yet easily contends with Hollywood movies endeared me to it.

American Psycho. It was alright but the main character wasn't the type of sociopath that intrigues me. The movie also cut off since the download sort of failed so I missed the last half hour.

That's such a coincidence taloden! I watched exactly the same movie just this very moment. I wouldn't give it such a high mark as you did... a solid 6.5/10. It brooked my expectations going into the movie and was certainly better than your average low budget movie experience but there was nothing too memorable about it.

It was adapted from a Robert E. Howard character who also penned Conan. So, I already had quite high expectations for the dialogue. As such it was the acting I paid more attention to. Luckily the actors did a good job, certainly better than I expected.

120 days of sodoma, is an italian movie made from a french romance dated about 1700 or 1800 from de sade, the man where the world sadism will come from, about some libertini having fun with some guys, the movie is forbidden to under 18 years old or censurated in many countries. I did enjoin some parts and some parts i didn't like. Bye.

I do see what you mean...I was being probably more generous than I should with my score...I think I gave it at least one point purely for not being a Hollywood production. lol I'm not familiar with any of Howards writing, so perhaps the style of the dialogue suprised me more than it would an avid well-read fantasy fan.

pasolini is hit or miss for me.. i love his rendition of the oedipus rex tale and teorema was pretty good as well. never had any interest in seeing 120 days of sodom.. seen enough debauchery in my movie watching days already i've realized what's the point? \-:

just makes me depressed for mankind

I saw The Last Exorcism today. My advice to anyone thinking about seeing it.... don't. What an immense waste of time that was.

I saw that yesterday. It was definitely not good, but in terms of exorcism movies, which I typically don't like because they're always basically the same move-- that one was at least different than all the others I've seen. It could have been much worse, imo. But I hated the way the entire film was completely out of focus & I spent most of my time sending messages to facebook while in the theater because it wasn't enough to hold my attention for long.

^^ "The Last Exorcism" yesterday. It was such a forgettable movie, that I forgot I had seen it the last time I replied to this thread & it had only been maybe five hours lol

Killers. A bit slow at first but fun remarks made up for that. Nice comedy /action.

Unthinkable. Meh. It didn't catch my attention. I kept playing my DS while watching - not the sign of a great movie!

Zombieland. Fun with a bit of originality to the characters, especially the 2 sisters, lol!

the only thing I don't get is why they called the movie Karate Kid when he used Kung Fu.

Terminator Salvation.

It were brilliant. After all the mixed reviews I wasn't that bothered about watching it, but man it was great. I loved all the little nods to the first two Terminator films, even the crap CGI Arnie had me squealing like an excited little girl.

I watched Baby Doll (1956) on TV recently. I thought it was really good. The only reason I started watching it is because I thought the girl (Carroll Baker) was gorgeous.

She looks like Jennifer Jason Leigh in that shot.
Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.

Part of "The Sound of Music" & "Nina's Heavenly Delights" NHD was better than I was expecting.

It doesn't match the excellence of the original but it isn't a bad watch. Certainly better than the third film Beyond Re-animator. I don't think you ruined yourself for skipping it, you're still awesome.

This is some of the concept art from District 9. Anybody find these aliens oddly attractive? :laugh
