It appealed greatly to my discerning sci-fi taste. Recommended.

I saw Gran Turino yesterday. It was one of the movies in my Netflix queue. So far I haven't had the best luck with picking movies...

I had chosen Gran Turino because it starred Clint Eastwood and had good reviews. It hoped it would end my bad movie streak... but it really didn't. The movie wasn't bad... there were times of humor; the things that Clint, aka: Walter, said were hilarious, but it was rather boring for a Clint Eastwood movie. I expected more action that it deliver. :( Admittedly, I did not watch it all the way through, but more than half way; long enough to see that it was based on gentler plot than I expected and wanted.

Go back and finish watching it. You won't be disappointed.

It's not action packed like a lot of his other movies but the story and the way they finished it was spectacular in my opinion.

Watched The life Aquatic last night. I've been thinking of watching the top 10 rated movies on the imbd site.

"Angels and demons". Meh. 5/10. Not terrible by any means, it just never caught my interest.

I did up finishing it... I actually though he was a fool, whipping out his Zippo like that. Guess I just didn't get it.

He knew he was going to die soon so he decided to put his death to good use and make an example out of it which resulted in the whole gang getting arrested. With the gang arrested the neighborhood was now safe and he probably prevented future deaths with the removal of the gang.

Last movie I watched was Empire of the Sun.
I really liked it, the recreation of the war and the camps was really good. The story was great as well, also the acting.

Call me a pansy, but I couldn't sleep the night after I watched it. I get startled easily.

Someone posted all 8 parts to "Lil Wayne: The Carter Documentary" on YouTube.
I don't know or care much for his music, but it was interesting nonetheless.

H.P. Lovecraft's Re-Animator. Pretty good, but I have to keep watching the others, to see how well they compare to the story.

Zack And Miri Make A Porno.

Quite a good comedy film, if you like that kind of slacker, gross-out comedy, that is. A better film by Seth Rogan that I watched a few months ago was Pineapple Express. That really was an excellent comedy film, had me laughing a couple of times.

Indeed. I recently saw this and loved it. It's refreshing to see a new science feature film that is based around an introspective and existential narrative, rather than spectacle. To be honest, I was starting to think that these kinds of science fiction films were dead. Certainly, if there have been any in recent years I haven't been able to track them down. This is definitely one for fans of classic sci-fi, such as Blade Runner, Alien, Silent Running, Logan's Run, Outland, 2001: A Space Odyssey etc.

Some interesting facts regarding 'Moon':
  • It was the feature debut of Duncan Jones, who is the son of David Bowie.
  • According to the aforementioned writer/director, it is the first film of a planned trilogy.
  • Apparently, the first of these two proposed sequels is called 'Mute', and is set in the same fictional universe as 'Moon'.
  • In an interview, Jones explains that 'Mute' is set in a future Berlin, and focuses on the story of an assassin who doesn't speak. He describes the project as being very visually influenced by 'Blade Runner', and mentions that there will be a cameo from Sam Rockwell, who will briefly reprise his role as Sam Bell.
