The Road. 7/10.

Harry Potter 6. 7/10.

Lucky. 0/10.

The Icecream man. 1/10.

Passegers. 7/10. Would've given it 8/10 if the start hadn't been so slow.

"the dreamlike relationship between a ferry clerk and a young soldier who claims to be her future lover."

turned this movie off halfway through, just as they were falling in love. the problem with most movies is that you know they'll go through some troubles together later on in the plot. decided to turn it off before beauty of falling in love was corrupted by inevitable movieness.

as far as i'm concerned this movie ends with two young people trapped in a never ending state of falling in love: an eternal innocence of awkwardly holding hands, the beatles' "i've just seen a face" wearing out the needle on the record player, the first phone call, the search for a subtle trace of emotion belying one's shyness as two lovers gaze into one another's eyes.

The last movie I watched was "Love Exposure." It was a very strange yet beautiful movie. And oh, it was 4 hours long.

I watched two movies yesterday, well one wasn't really a movie, it was a two hour long docudrama about Charles Manson and The Family. I found it really fascinating, the amount of power and influence he had over all those people I just can't get my head around it. That would just be the ultimate fantasy for me, to have that level of authority and control over people, epspecially women. Man I'd be having soooooooo much sex. Why do I always end up idolising such fucked up people? It's always serial killers and dictators, I never pick positive role models. :scratchhead

Second movie was Transformers 2. Good mindless entertainment.

Hotel for dogs. 5/10. Predictable and forgettable. Cute dogs.

Trees 2: The root of all evil. 6/10. Parts of it was too silly and it took too long to get to the fun parts. Original idea, though.

Fragile: 7/10.

Lol, yes recently I have!
My father took a trip to his hometown for a couple of weeks, and the remaining part of the family (me and my mother) got some DVDs on sale so we had something to have fun with, too. In addition we have re-watched some old ones that I haven't metioned in this thread.
So I've been enjoying lots of movies the last few weeks! :grin :D

AntiChrist

Not a film I would usually go out of my way to watch but some of the things I had heard about it and all the controversy surrounding it made me really want to see it. There definately were some scenes that I was taken aback by (NOOOO!!!! DROP THE SCISSORS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD), the sex scenes were really really graphic, I didn't think you could show such hardcore sex scenes in mainstream films. Guess I was wrong. Overall all though the film was mediocre, it was very slow paced aswell, I found myself losing interest until the end where most of the talking points feature.

I just finished watching Zombie Land which I thought was pretty awesome.

Yesterday I watched 9, which turned out to be 1000x better than I thought it would be.

THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN

I love Mystery Science Theater 3000! It educates me with some of the most unbelievably terrible films that I've never heard of.
It's a typical slice of B-movie nonsence: astronaughts go to Saturn; shit happens; one guy returns horribly melted; said melted man goes on killing spree; people try pathetically to stop him; shit happens; fin.
It's very, very silly but oddly watchable. It's far from the worst thing I've seen on MST3K, believe me, there are much worse films than that. This at least had some kind of production values, and - wait for it - acting.

The one thing that did genuinely surprise me was that Jonathon Demme was in it. The same Jonathon Demme that directed Silence Of The Lambs and the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense? It can't be! Surely not.

I saw The Last Exorcism today. My advice to anyone thinking about seeing it.... don't. What an immense waste of time that was.

I also watched...

The Audition... which was extremely disappointing and often confusing.

Dead Snow... which was extremely awesome. The pure awesome of this movie made up for the immense ass-bagery of the other two.

I've recently watched No Country for Old Men, Zodiac and Seven, in that order, because they were all on TV. All three have very anticlimactic endings. What's up with that?
