That was a fucking insane second half to Spain - Paraguay. Feel gutted for the Paraguayans, really wanted them to win that. 2 missed penalties, a re-take, chances in the dying minutes... Football, bloody hell.

Shit! Really! :omg
I stopped watching after the first half because it was really dire. This always happens, stop watching and it turns into something amazing.

Me either. It got boring in the 1st half so I switched to another channel. Saw the highlights later. :omg
Now I can't really wait for both semi final games. ^__^

CELTIC are excited to announce they will be turning the volume up next season and bringing the electric atmosphere back to the stands with the launch of their very own vuvuzela.

The novelty plastic horn is a national phenomenon in South Africa and has become a fans’ favourite during this summer's World Cup.

After demand from supporters, especially our young fans, green and white vuvuzelas will go on sale towards the end of next week at all official outlets.

The club are looking forward to raising the temperature and bringing the buzz back to Paradise as the fans get behind Neil Lennon and his team next season.

Spain? Interesting.

Holland go through to the final, 3-2.

Bah, the Dutch getting to the final is so undeserved :thumbsdown They've only played well for about half an hour of this tournament against Brazil. Was hoping for the Uruguayans to go all the way as underdogs. Now i reckon Germany will take it.

I wished for a possible classic in the final, so I'm glad Oranjes made it. :smile2
Kudos to the Uruguayans though - they have reached a lot. Who would have thought that before the cup?

Now I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm already nervous. :smile2

I actually know a guy who had a bet on them reaching the final. Gutted for him :(

I had been hoping for Uruguay to go through to the final too. :'( Sounds like they put up a decent fight against the Dutch, though. I woke up to watch the match at 4am, but I was watching it in bed, in the dark, so I fell back to sleep and missed it.

I kinda stopped watching the football after England went out lol, its not that I wanted them to win, I'm not a whole lot interested in football but, its more interesting when there are more countries involved and getting to see different countries play everyday. Same with the Wimbledon.

Last nights game between Uruguay and Holland was quite good. Still not convinced about Holland though, they're getting through but just barely.
:confused
Van Bronkhurst's goal was AMAZING! What an unbelievable goal, difinitely the best goal I've seen in the tournament.

Wish I could see this evening's game, but I can't. Damn revision. :cry

Well done, Spain.
They were the better team and played strongly from the beginning. We had only a few chances.

Can't believe this will be the first time Spain and Holland have played against each other. I reckon I'll be supporting Holland, only because Spain have been so dull, grinding out wins to get to the final. Saying that though, Holland haven't exactly set the world alight.

Germany gave away the game for 70 minutes by being too defensive and careful. No need to be on the defensive against Spain, Paraguay proved that by pressuring the spanish for almost 90 minutes. That game was a real thriller for Spain, unlike this one against Germany which they controlled.

Yeah. This is finally starting to get interesting. Condolences to Mikan :friends , but I'm glad Spain went through because they've never won a World Cup, unlike the other teams. I would have preferred Uruguay (interesting little country, might want to go there one day), but I'm just glad they made it this far and put up a good fight against Netherlands.

I dunno about this octopus . . . They like to camoflage themselves, so maybe he just goes for the team with the most red and yellow, considering that he's orange(ish). Or maybe he controls the matches telepathically! :norikon On the news last night, they cut straight from his Spain prediction to images of people butchering and eating an octopus and said, "Paul currently lives in an aquarium in Germany, but the Germans may be planning to do something different with him if he's correct this time."

Uruguay 2 - 3 Germany
That was quite an entertaining game. I was convinced it was going to go into extra time when Forlan struck the ball - but the bar saved the day.
It would have been the first time that I would have seen a third place playoff go into extra time. Which would have been strange.
Glad it didn't turn out to be a mundane 90mins of crap. :surprised

*sigh*
only one game left and it's all over. Spain to win I reckon. :confused

Yes, very entertaining game. Luckily this wasn't one of those boring games. Somebody said on Twitter that World Cup is like a Twilight movie: they run around for two hours, nobody scores but still millions of fans keep telling you how great it is. :grin

Yes, it was a nice game. I still feel sad about the loss to Spain. Still sure that with Müller everything would look different now. But oh well, I'm looking forward to the Euro qualification games! :)

Finally one game left. I'll be quite relaxed watching this then though I still want the Dutch to win.
But Spain may be the better team, I'm afraid. And Paul seems to think that way. :robbybobson

Yeah. Uruguay . . . :inlove

I doubt tonight's game will be as exciting. Both teams play conservatively, focusing on possession and defense.

People say "Spain play the best football in the world", but I don't quite get it... They pass the ball around forever, just making small advances until they find a gap in the opponent's defence. Then they win 1-0.
