 Re: Hallucinations
I only hallucinate if I get sleep paralysis, and only if I open my eyes. I hate SP, but I get it a lot, especially if I try to fall asleep on my back.

 Re: Hallucinations
SP sucks, I've experienced it twice, a few years ago and about 14 years ago.
About 8 years ago I had rather high fever (about 39) in connection with either a cold or a flu. I was in my bed sleeping when my mother came in to check on me. I dreamt I was on a ship. When my mother pushed at my blanket to close the door IRL, my blanket shifted over my legs, and got entangled. In my dream something grabbed my legs and pulled me down through the deck. Forced awake I saw my mother leave my room but I was still half dreaming and I saw a giant thing going. I got up and went after her. I reached my door just as she went into the bathroom. I hurried after to take the tentacled monster. Reaching the bathroom door I stuck out my hand, pointing it after her like it was a weapon. "You look like you're wild," she said, and at her words I woke up completely and felt confused. I don't have a history of sleep walking so I assume it happened because of the fever.

 Re: Hallucinations
Oh, didn't realize this counted! I've experienced this numerous times, its always disturbing. Its almost like I carry stuff from my dream into reality. I think it has to do something with brain waves, there is this particular one called the Theta wave that I have heard mentioned.

 Re: Hallucinations
Most of my experiences with sleep paralysis have been awful but I remember once I hallucinated something really nice. I was disappointed when I fully awoke, I wanted it to come back.

 Re: Hallucinations
I use to hallucinate sometimes, but mostly when I was stressed. It was just minor hallucinations like hearing things that weren't really there, or tasting something weird in my drink even though there's nothing wrong with it. I can't recall the last time I've had a hallucination though. I'm on medication now, so they never really happen anymore.

 Re: Hallucinations
Not sure if they're hallucinations, but sometimes I see like this spec of light float past me and disappear. It's weird.

 Re: Hallucinations
Other than sleep paralysis, I've also hallucinated due to severe anxiety and stress before. It got very bad for a while and I was hearing voices and bells and other sounds that weren't really there. I also saw people sometimes. But all that stopped once I was put on an SSRI about a year and a half ago.

 Re: Hallucinations
I recently had a sleep-paralysis-y related experience. If you've ever had sleep paralysis, you may be familiar with the sensation of it being very difficult to move you entire body just before it fully takes over. I was in that state for a while, but not so much that I was in any extreme discomfort. I kept dropping in and out of wakefulness and every time I closed my eyes, I would slip into another dream that would follow on from me waking up from my last dream (like a dream within a dream within a dream Inception style). Whilst awake, strange things happened, like I thought that I could hear my boyfriend's thoughts and that was somehow normal for some reason It was like dreams and reality were blending together and it was hard to separate one from the other.

 Re: Hallucinations
Ive had that a few times where i could feel/hear a mouse in the room and in my bed... couldnt move for the life of me even though i thought the mouse was nibbling at my ear. I get flash's of images when i close my eyes of what ever ive loaded my mind with during the day.... when i was doing arboriculture i would see trees quite often... when dog sitting i would see dogs.... The worse one is when i look at too much porn . I used to get visual distortions quite a lot... Also used to see flash's of light and orbs that look like a pixel, and the usual floaters that most people get. but me be crazy anyway
