Post a screen-shot of your desktop
Do what the thread-title tells you to do - post a screen-shot of your desktop.
I will post a screen-shot as soon as I get home.

Wow, what an funny coincidence of fate! I had recommended to you - not five minutes ago - that you should consider creating a 'screenshot thread' - and it seems that you were already way ahead of me. Or perhaps we share a telepathic bond? Anyway, here is my desktop. Very boring, I know.

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
I installed Windows 7 late last night. I've yet to customize everything to my liking, but here is what the desktop looks like right now:

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
That's a very nice desktop you have there, Chair. Did you make the wallpaper yourself? If not, would you like to know how to make one just like it? If you want, I could teach you how - after you know the basic techniques, you could have endless hours of fun I suppose it would be improper to post in a screenshot thread without posting a screenshot myself. Here is an old screenshot of my desktop (from sometime in February, I think)

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
I didn't make the wallpaper myself. The wallpaper is a desktop background that comes with Windows 7. Sure. I wouldn't mind you letting me know how to make one like it.

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
I never saw the need to customize my desktop; mine is simply a mostly black screen with nothing in it except the recycle bin icon. I do almost everything through the explorer tool, or wahtever it's called, using the desktop merely to store files temporarily!

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
Should I go with an Aero glass theme, or just use the Classic theme instead?

You almost got it right, Greenincognito. What exactly were you trying to do - post a screenshot of your desktop?
Most forums use BBcode - a special markup language designed specially for forums.
The BBcode for posting an image is [img]URL[/img]
So if you upload an image somewhere, and the final URL of the image (the address that you send to people if you want them to view the image, etc.) is something like "http://www.website.com/green.jpg", then in your post you would write: [img]http://www.website.com/green.jpg[/img]
If you don't know where to upload your images, try any of the following websites: imageshack.us tinypic.com photobucket.com
(Also, to take a screenshot of your desktop in Microsoft Windows, press the Print Screen button, upon MS Paint, Edit->Paste, and save the image).

So much better than vista. I really like that you can virtualize xp linux so easily with it too.

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
Vista was a fucking mistake. I could never run that operating system on my computer even if someone held a gun up to my fuckin' head. Windows 7.... To be honest with you, I didn't have very high expectations of it considering how much of a piece of shit Vista was. However, when I tried it out, I got a huge surprise. It was a very stable operating system with nice (useful) features. I'd be using it as my primary operating system right now if only I didn't have a video-related problem with it. Some things were extremely jerky and would freeze my system, like when I'd scroll through my playlist in Foobar2000 or watch Flash videos. I have an adequate enough amount of ram and good enough video, even though it's on-board it's still adequate I'm quite sure. I tried out different video-drivers out, but I still wound up having the same problem.... It really sucks. I long to use that operating system again. Oh well, I'll have to wait until I get a new system I guess....

Re: Post a screen-shot of your desktop!
Yeah. I tried pretty much every damn thing, but still had it not want to cooperate. Perhaps by the time the first service pack comes out for Windows 7 it will run smoothly on this system. If not though, I won't care much as I'll hopefully have a new system by then. This system is a low-end piece of shit that was majorly over-priced for what I got. I only got it because I was desperate for a computer after being without one for a year. Damn.... A person will do anything for a computer after being without one for that long a time.
