Unfortunately not, I don't even know what I'd read. Library books are great, but I'd rather read what's 'popular' in the who and now, so hopefully it'll influence my writing style to become more contemporary. :thumbsup

Well, i don't know much about contemporary or popular authors, but i heartily recommend you some of the works of Chuck Palahniuk :thumbsup. For some reason, imagining Soulless reading a Palahniuk novel is funny in a way, i can't avoid thinking she will be/say a bit "WTF" when reading some of the things in there lol.

And on topic, thanks, but i'll pass the challenge, don't think i can take it :(.

And im too lazy to learn to type faster.

If manga counted, I'd be halfway there already! :crazy

I'm pretty sure I could manage this if I was in history grad school instead of studying law--in history, you read actual books, whereas in law, you just read court reports and then fall asleep on top of them because some judge really enjoys hearing him/herself talk. I think in terms of actual books I've read...uh...twenty or so this year? I read sort of trashy books though, you guys read some heavy hitting stuff. I'm pretty sure ten of the twenty books I've read this year have been by Stephen King.

At least I haven't resorted to the cheap slash romance novels...yet.

my gf prides herself in being a very fast reader, she can easily read a harry potter and philosophers stone sized book in less than a day. This was our conversation when I told her about this thread:

me: theres this thread, 200 books a year challenge.
her: oh yeh?
me: you reckon you could do it?
her: what, read 200 books in a year?
me: yeh
her: how many days are in a year?

FDR’s Folly
A Briefer History of Time
His Last Bow
Catching Fire
Thus Spoke Zarathustra
Gilgamesh

I can't imagine I could read that many lol, but I sort of accept. I've already read a lot this year, just since January.

Me too, last week. :whoa Inspiring but outdated.

Currently reading:
  • Sherlock Holmes: His Last Bow - Arthur Conan Doyle

I guess 25 books sounds like a realistic challenge for me, considering how little time I have to read (despite being a recluse and all) and how thick my books tend to be. 9 so far, 16 to go.
