VVVVVV is coming to the 3DS eshop next week. I'm happy I'll be able to play that on the move. Plus Terry added a bunch of user made levels, and if feedback is positive he'll add the level editor.

So there's a girl who posts frequently on the ME boards on BSN, and I've always kind of liked her. But then just today I randomly went to her youtube channel and discovered that her voice is strangely similar to mine. But British.

It freaked me out. It's like how I hear my voice in my own head. Which is even creepier.

Either that or she IS Rezu. A split personality which had been lying dormant for years. And those videos are just Rezu in some cheap disguise and putting on a British accent... Or you know, the soulmate thing, one of the two.

Humans are social animals, even introverts want to be with other intelligent beings once in a while. Alhtough i don't want to be a fanboy: Hedghehog's Dilemma :unsure.

I'm surprised at how damn good this wine my sister made is. When I start drinking it, I find it hard to stop.

I think it has inspired me to start making my own wine.

Yeah! I've always been intrigued about wine making, but thought it'd be too complicated to make my own. But if your sister can make decent wine, so can I :P

The last thing that surprised me was how oblivious still I am to manners. I generally consider myself to know how to act suitably polite in most situations, seeing as it's something that my parents have always drummed into me as a matter of great importance since young, but it turns out that I'm still as ignorant and awkward as ever :neutral I still feel like a kid.

Oh, and another, more interesting thing that surprised me was the fact that my dog has been showing signs of missing my presence :blush
I've been away at university and during this holiday have been away from home a lot. Just now when my mum called my name and I called back in reply, my dog hurried to the bottom of the stairs and waited for me to come down. He's also been whining to be let out to see me and following me around a lot. I didn't think he'd miss me much with the rest of my family being around the house all of the time, but apparently he does. It's very sweet.

Making wine isn't complicated at all. But making good wine seems to be a challenge for most people.

All the homemade wines I've had in my life, sans this stuff my sister made, have been pretty awful. I once drank a bottle of wine that my friend's mom made that had a strong vinegary taste to it. I can't believe that my friend and I were able to consume all of it. Why did we drink it? Because we ran out of beer and didn't want to stop being buzzed. lol

Ha ok, fair enough. It'd still be fun to experiment until you can get it right though :) I think I recall a wine making thread on here somewhere lol.

Also, I've consumed a lot of shitty, vinegary wine in my time as well as delicious wine (of which I'm drinking right now.) It's cheap and does the job, although I find that it also leaves you feeling horrible after :sick

Another thing that surprised is that i so want to know what the site was.

And great to know you will still marry her and... fok... her, it seems that you really love her :) And in a way, that is really pretty and unique to hear in a forum of reclusives, it is worthy of admiration :).

There are actually people out there who dislike the Lord of the RIngs films for the sole reason that there were barely any non-white extras. I met one today. :whoa

Sigh. Mmmnnnn. :neutral :p

Yeah, I often get surprised at the weird stuff I look at online, I'm not gonna lie. I'm probably on a government list somewhere.

Recently surprised at how much traveling I may be doing for my job, assuming I'm still in it for the year (which is my plan so far).
France, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany...also possibly England and America, also, but not for my job.

Also pleasantly surprised that I have forgotten about my airline miles and could qualify for a free ticket soon, if not now.

Was looking for Google Greasemonkey scripts on userscripts.org. One of the most popular results that came up was a script made by HC member Cface:

Post Re: What's the last thing that surprised you?
I was surprised to learn that there used to be elephant-sized(!) sloths:

Wikipedia wrote:
Megatherium was one of the largest mammals known, weighing up to eight tons, about as much as an African bull elephant. Although it was primarily a quadruped, its footprints show that it was capable of assuming a bipedal stance. When it stood on its hind legs it was about twenty feet (6 m) tall, twice the height of an elephant. This sloth, like a modern anteater, walked on the sides of its feet because its claws prevented it from putting them flat on the ground. Megatherium species were members of the abundant Pleistocene megafauna, large mammals that lived during the Pleistocene epoch.

Megatherium had a robust skeleton with a large pelvic girdle and a broad muscular tail. Its large size enabled it to feed at heights unreachable by other contemporary herbivores. Rising on its powerful hind legs and using its tail to form a tripod, Megatherium could support its massive body weight while using the curved claws on its long forelegs to pull down branches with the choicest leaves. Its jaw is believed to have housed a long tongue, which it would then use to pull leaves into its mouth, similar to the modern tree sloth.

Some recent morpho-functional analysis indicates that M. americanum was adapted for strong vertical biting. The teeth are hypsodont and bilophodont, and the sagittal section of each loph is triangular with a sharp edge. This suggests the teeth were used for cutting, rather than grinding, and that hard fibrous food was not the primary dietary component.

Richard Fariña and Ernesto Blanco of the Universidad de la República in Montevideo have analysed a fossil skeleton of M. americanum and discovered that its olecranon - the part of the elbow to which the triceps muscle attaches - was very short. This adaptation is found in carnivores and optimises speed rather than strength. The researchers say this would have enabled M. americanum to use its claws like daggers. They suggest that to add nutrients to its diet, Megatherium may have taken over the kills of Smilodon. Based on the estimated strength and mechanical advantage of its biceps, it has been proposed that Megatherium could have overturned adult glyptodonts (large, armored xenarthrans, related to armadillos) as a means of scavenging or hunting these animals. However, other zoologists have described this proposal as "fanciful".

Wikipedia wrote:
The giant ground sloth lived mostly in groups, but it may have lived singly in caves. While mostly vegeterian, it has been suggested that it may have used its size and strength to take over the kills of sabre-toothed cat Smilodon and to scavenge or hunt large, armored glyptodonts. For millions of years, the sloth had no enemies to bother it, so it was probably a diurnal animal.

That's the coolest shit I've come across on Wikipedia in a long time.

That I have £15 to my name, lost my earphones the other night, and I'm not laying in bed moping. Maybe this "So what?" outlook is the calm before the storm, and next week I'll be suicidal, but for now I'm enjoying this freedom of not really caring.

I always though those people were paid actors for reality shows, for some reason i've never believed they were actual people (and i admit i feel a bit mixed about putting them on TV, but i suppose that they decided in a way :unsure). Anyway, i hope things turn out for the better for your neighbour.
