I shall definitely give those a good loook over. I think I have berserk, and golden boy on my drive right now. Also, yes, fan service is nice.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
In no particular order, leaving out a lot I'm sure. Neon Genesis Evangelion Fullmetal Alchemist(both) Welcome to the N.H.K. FLCL Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Elfen Lied Cowboy Bebop Samurai Champloo Claymore Gunslinger Girl(first season) Azumanga Daioh Movies: Akira Spirited Away Princess Mononoke Afro Samurai 1 & 2 Eva movies I've been watching The Melancholy of Harihi Suzumiya. Figuring out the order of this series is a hell of a lot of work but it's pretty entertaining. I watch Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach(basically just out of habit) every week.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
I'm obsessed with: -Fate / Stay Night -Shingetsutan Tsukihime Those two Type Moon releases are my favourite things of all things on Earth and beyond. Not just the animes, also the visual novels and mangas. If I was forced to go to a deserted island and could bring only one thing, that would be the Fate / Stay Night visual novel or anime. More important than water! Now a list with the animes I like a lot and re-watch often: -Nekojiru (both the the series and movie) -Kino's Journey (I have a slight obsession with this one too. I can relate a lot to the main charater, being a kind of a traveler myself.) -Haibane Renmei -Boogiepop Phantom -Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (those are just two OVAs, I still like it because the manga is great) -Perfect Blue -Paranoia Agent -Zone of the Enders Idolo -Dennou Coil -Serial Experiments Lain -cyberpunk ones: Ghost in the Shell (first movie, Innocence and series), GUNNM, Parasite Dolls, Malice@Doll, Texhnolyze, I might be missing someting else too. Random avant-garde ones too, the Nekojiru or Glassy Ocean kind. Vampire Hunter D wasn't bad either, although Bloodlust is horrible. I also like Pigeon Blood (hardcore S/M hentai) and Bible Black (hentai). The funny thing about animes is they are always a bit mainstream. This is why I prefer much more visual novels or mangas - longer story, less censure, more elite. Although no manga/novel could replace Perfect Blue.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
My favorite anime always changes when I watch new anime. Also, I can never come up with a list to post.. But at the moment I am watching Toradora! and it's really good so far. Revolutionary Girl Utena was also good, and I enjoy all psychological anime.
There would be some anime I thought I liked because I read the manga, but some shouldn't be changed into an anime. Pita-Ten and Kamichama Karin were much better as manga.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
Air was the first anime to ever make me cry, very well made, and really like the subtle addition of magic/supernatural(it's not in your face). As for NHK, I don't think I even need to say anything Well I can say, if you haven't watched it in english, DO. Voice acting imo was done very well, all of the voices match their character.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
Cowboy Bebop (Classic. My favourite characters are Spike and Ed) Fullmetal Alchemist (I heard the manga is better but I haven't really gotten too far in the manga. My favorite characters are the standard Ed and Al) Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Dammit I love this series even if the Visual Novel is better. My favourite character is Rena) Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (The second series..It was good but the first is much better even though they both pretty much contribute to the same story line.) Monster (Amazing series but it can be somewhat boring at times. Although I marathoned it so that may of burnt me out on it. Grimmer is one of my favourite characters in an anime series) Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (I like the first and second season the best but all of them are entertaining and pretty funny. My favourite characters would be Nozomu, Chiri, Kafuka, and Kiri) Serial Experiments Lain (After watching this series it made me just think about existence and what it means. I've never seen a series quite like it. Lain is my favourite character in the series (not too many other characters I guess). Welcome to the NHK (I've never felt so depressed after watching an anime. The first reason I felt depressed was because the series was over and I wanted to see more of the characters. The second reason was because I relate so well to Satou in mind but he gets better and helps himself. His friends Yamizaki, and Misaki are the reason he was able to recover and I no longer have real life friends that can be here to help. My favourite character is Satou but Misaki and Yamizaki are really good characters as well.)

Re: What is your favorite anime?
In terms of series, Death Note for sure. I've yet to found another series that even remotely reaches DN's greatness level. I always said that I'll jam a spoon into my eye if I ever find a better anime series involving psychology and detective stuff. And OHS Host Club is the funniest anime I've seen so far, and even though it's embarrassing to admit, it's one of my faves even without the funny bits. Yankee-kun to Megane-chan is also hilarious, but it's a manga, so it doesn't count here.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
I don't really have a favourite. I used to collect anime on VHS tapes when I was younger, mainly movies. Then for some reason I abandoned it, until recently when I watched my childhood love Project A-ko. It has to be the funniest anime I've ever watched and it's lost none of it's charm.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
I started watching anime from Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away and after all I like it most. Later I also watched and enjoyed almost all his works. Last anime for me was NHK what I found also very enjoyable and watched it twice (with russian subs and russian one-voice dubbing).

Gunbuster.
It reminds me of myself in some ways. Whilst I've been frozen in time, the people I used to know have moved onto family life and adult responsibility. Each scene has great attention to detail too, so even though the character design dates it against more recent anime, it's still has great animation.

My all-time favorite would have to be Mushishi. I've also really enjoyed Berserk, Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Claymore, Inuyasha, and Naruto.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
I never dared to watch Grave of the Fireflies because every opinion of it I heard over the years was like: "OMG IT'S THE SADDEST THING EVER". I don't really like pathetic stuff in movies so I prudently abstained.....My favourites of all time are the almighty Evangelion and Gundam SEED, and by the way they are all noted on my AniDB profile: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sh ... &uid=70644 (AniDB = the best site of all time! )

Re: What is your favorite anime?
Elfen Lied is my absolute favorite of all time. I was seriously left in a trance for a few days after watching it. I don't think I'll ever see a more beautiful story than that. I zone out if I even begin to play the opening theme in my mind. ChaoS;HEAd comes in at a close second. I've re-watched the first episodes more than I probably should heh. Also Black Lagoon for it's awesomeness (seriously, in terms of the awesome factor not many come close), Higurashi no naku Koro ni for the paranoia and merciless violence and Welcome to the N.H.K., which actually brought me to this forum.

Re: What is your favorite anime?
I recently finished watching all of those movies/series beneath and damn, its been an amazing time. everyone searching for something different and mindblowing should check the majority of those sereies out. especially the "tatmi galaxy" will touch your heard, since it deals with reclusiveness/hikkikomori-theme in the 10th episode in an utterly brilliant and moving way. great stuff!
