Re: What games are you playing?
Fable II. I played the first one but never finished it. So far, the sequel in terms of gameplay seems alright, but storyline is kinda lacking. Thanks to a friend of mine over XBL, EXP and gold has made the quest a little more bearable.
Also thinking about going back to my PS2. Left that thing in the dust for over a year now and been wanting to play FFX again just for the sake of nostalgia.

I think I'm going to try the Donkey Kong challenge. Then maybe some shmups (I'm liking Raiden so thank you ML for that recomendation. It's frustrating because the bombs don't give you invincibility frames but frustrating is good for a masochist gamer like myself.)
I have this urge to replay Final Fantasy VIII ... a good way to kill time until it's time for world cup.

As for Donkey Kong, I declare myself the king so far. No one has challenged the high score.
As for Raiden...Have fun!

I'm not too far off though! The game is freakin' difficult though and I've only made it to the first half of level 2.
As for Raiden...I am!
I just downloaded a hell of a lot of Doujin and Indie games but I'm still playing Morrowind (I had to start a new file).

Dragon Quest IX. Been playing this constantly ever since I bought it on release day. Also got it along with Blue Dragon even though I haven't played that yet since. Busy, busy.

I finished Dead Space a couple of days ago, so now I'm just casually playing some Fifa 10 and MW2. I'll probably get a new game soon, I'm thinking either Mass Effect 2, or Red Dead Redemption.

Nier. This might be my favorite game on Xbox 360 so far. If/when I get a PS3, I'll definitely import the Japanese version (Nier: Replicant), since the main character appeals to me WAY more (I just can't relate to a guy who's a dad and looks exactly like Gary Busey...), and the voice acting is probably a lot better.

Only one of my all time favourite games.
Can still remember the second ice manor puzzle halting my progress. Damn that was a nasty one! I didn't have the internet at the time so there was no gamefaqs to help me out. (;_;)

Alundra is an awesome game indeed. Like a mix between Landstalker and Zelda but with a unique atmosphere of its own. Of all the nightmares I think the best was the hunter guy's. Some sort of dreamy, depressing ice castle in a snow world.

Glad you like it, it's such a great game. You're right about it having a unique atmosphere of it's own. I think it's because it has a good plot development and more darker tone than Zelda games. For a village you're supposed to save, quite alot of the townsfolk die. That some of them start to become distrustful of you in the game gives it a nice edge to it. The colour scheme was quite nice aswell, much more earthy colours than Zelda. It was nice that they weren't trying to make a blatant Zelda clone.
The nightmares were definitely the highlights of the game, the hunter (Kline) dream is a good one. I think my favourite one was the girl with the split personalities (Elene) so her nightmare reflected this by being really abstract. I like the game alot which is strange because there's afew levels I hated - the Reptile Lair, Magyscar(sp?), and the desert leading to the Ancient Shrine really pissed me off.
The only thing I felt slightly uneasy about was the ending. It doesn't annoy me so much now but at the time it did.
At the crossroads when Meia heads off to the left it's all nice and sunshiney. Alundra goes down the right path, which is bleak, has few to no trees (most things look dead), has dark clouds, and doesn't look very hopeful at all. Why? Why did you go down this path Alundra? I can't remember at any point in the game that indicates why he would do this - did Melza's curse him, or was he always cursed? . It just seemed to imply that Alundra was doomed to something that's out of your control. Guess I need to find out. I felt annoyed at that, because even though I beat the game, it didn't feel like I won somehow. Well, that was my reaction at the time. It was a bold decision to end the game that way.

StarCraft 2! If anyone wants to add me, my battle.net name is Destroyatron (lol). I also play Modern Warfare 2 for PS3 quite a bit - my username for that is MauFackinNoth. Planning on getting Black Ops one of these days.... and FF XIV Online as soon as it comes out.
