Wow, that's great.

Why do you find it great? Are you being sarcastic?

Guys and girls: Osama Bin Laden, despite what you hear, is not the reigning Hide-And-Seek champion. It is not D. B. Cooper, nor is it Jimmy Hoffa. It is Amelia Earhart, who has been missing for almost 74 years now.

Does anyone else find this very odd... almost suspicious? It certainly was not a proper Islamic burial, and why the hell did they dispose of the body so fast! They could have taken some time to do things like perform on autopsy maybe!? It just don't understand why they were like, "okay we got his body, into the ocean with it, wham bam thank you ma'am, start waving the American flag!"

If you want to hear my ridiculous conspiracy theory, I think Osama died years ago, and was buried in a nameless grave. The government has been chasing a ghost all this time, and when they finally realized he would never be found, they came up with this story in order to put the issue to rest with the public....

Alternatively, Osama was found and killed years ago, and his body has been on ice in a secret government facility somewhere, and "they" finally decided to thaw him out and inform the public that he is now dead as part of some kind of scheme to manipulate public opinion at this particular moment. It could have connections to the conflict in Libya, or to some other flashpoint in the middle east, or elsewhere in the world.

Okay, back to reality now.

No sarcasm, but I read a bit more about it. It would have been great if they did it right, but apparently a burial at sea isn't "proper." It could have been a great symbolic gesture to extremists, but clerics and scholars are saying they did it wrong, so they're still pissed, so nvm.

Yeah if anything I am a bit scared. These terrorists fight by blowing themselves up. Now they have even more of a reason to take us out. Granted losing bin laden is a pretty big blow to Al-Queada. I wonder how long it will be before the group fractures.

Wondering when Al-Queada will fracture? You know... that no such organization actually exists, right? Al-Queada is nothing more than a myth. There is not now, nor was there ever, a vast international terrorist organization plotting the downfall of the West. There is no secret underground lair from which an evil genius plots and schemes and devises a plan to explode a nuclear bomb in the center of the Earth, flooding every part of the world in liquid hot magma!

What does exist are small, weak, poorly funded, and poorly organized groups of Islamic nationalists in the middle east, who resent foreign influence in their lands, and who are willing to resort to a religiously inspired terrorism to attempt to expel occupying forces. Of course, things are much more complicated than that, more complicated than I will pretend to understand, but what I am fairly sure of, is that there is no need to fear for our lives here in the West, because far more people die here in car accidents than from terrorism.

The biggest threat to world security is hardly Islamic extremism. I would say the biggest threat is the same as has faced the world since WWII, and that is the threat of nuclear annihilation. And no, there is no chance that a terrorist will get a nuclear device and explode it. Nuclear technology is far to valuable and dangerous for any government, even one like Iran, to simply hand it over to fanatical maniacs.

Well, that's my humble opinion on the matter at least.

Great post. Definitely true that there is no worldwide terrorist organization. I personally don't think there was ever a real need for "homeland security" or terror warning colors or upped security protocol at airports or anything of the sort. Fear is the best means of controlling lots of people, though. You can get anything you need/want out of people if they are scared and you convince them that you will protect them from "evil". No, I don't believe the govt is plotting my demise at the moment, but it is tragically comedic how easily manipulated most people are.

I'm stuck between two schools of thought with this matter.

a.) He's not really dead and this is just a great PR move to aid Obama's slumping ratings
b.) He is dead and this is just a PR move to aid Obama's slumping ratings. :P

It makes sense I guess, he's been extremely reclusive the last 10 years. Too bad he didn't join the site.
