Re: Going to uni need advice
Ok, I don't know very well what you should do to have a good Uni life, but I know what you shouldn't do.
Do not skip classes. (Unless you're sick, of course!) With nobody to tell you to get your ass to school (a.k.a. parents) you have to be strict with yourself. Once you get used to skipping, it's really difficult to start attending again, you'd need a lot of willpower... so it's better not to skip to begin with.
And try to develop some kind of studying routine - how many hours of study per week, and when. It's a bit scary when work piles up.
Also take your time to adjust... when I entered college last year, I thought: "I'm going to start over! Completely! From NOW!", so I ended up putting myself under some sort of unnecessary stress.

One step at a time...
Anyway, private bathrooms are awesome!
