I couldn't play games like I used to, anymore. I've distanced myself from the people I used to play with and video-games aren't as much fun as a wholly insular experience. They pose unique story telling mechanics apart from books and movies, but at the same time story is often overlooked and the budgets in making a modern computer games is such that companies don't want to take risks trying out new methods. Everything becomes too echoic of things passed; Things that worked, but even those they fail to surpass.

I'm mostly tempted by one or two games based on nostalgia and couldn't really care about the rest, unless I'm asked to play them by somebody I know personally.

Thanks to the almighty depression god, I've been tearing through games for the last couple days. So far I've got Silent Hill 2, Plants VS Zombies, and Portal 2 under my belt.

Fuck sleep, play vidya.

What next?

I used to think this too but I think I've just gotten more picky over the years. There are still some genres I still have a blast with, so I just play less video games while waiting for those to come out.
