Lots of you people who're into astronomy probably know that spacetelescope.org has downloadable archives (archives as in zip archives) of the "top 100" ESA/Hubble images. If you weren't aware of this and are into astronomy, you'll probably want to download this archive which contains the top 100 images their original sizes. While I recommend the original size images, please note that the archive which contains them is 3.8 GB in size. If you feel that's too big for you, get this archive instead which is only 25 MB in size. I personally like to have images in their original sizes so that I can downsize them to any dimensions I like and make wallpapers among other things from them.

I often make wallpapers from these images and when I post my desktop background on sites people often tell me stuff like "wow - awesome desktop background! Where did you find that!" Now people know where I get my astronomy wallpapers from.

Wow. They're all mesmerizing, but the Tarantula nebula probably takes the cake in terms of wacky colors. Makes me wish I had my own space ship. Or Tardis, whatever, I'm not picky.

i used to be really big into astronomy when i was in elementary school. seeing all these images makes me sad i didn't really pursue it after that
