 Re: Discuss your user-name
I use 'Krokodil' because I really like that word. It started when I fell in love with Crocodile Gena from Cheburashka. I started using the name Krokodil Gena on different sites until it sort of just stuck. Well the Krokodil part at least.

 Re: Discuss your user-name
Haha, my username is silly when you know what it means. At least, the FON part anyway. Back in the day, I used to play TFC (Team Fortress Classic) religiously with a couple friends. One of my buddies at the time created a clan called FON, which stood for Flip Out Ninjas, because we were obsessed with the website Real Ultimate Power. I was the only other member of the clan from what I remember haha. The Eternal part is just something I've always used in names. Take it to mean what you wish.

 Re: Discuss your user-name
noisy requiem is a japanese cult flick from the 80's
from imdb: "Its focus are the daily lifes of social outcasts in kyoto, misfits and freaks, we have a serial killer, crippled soldiers, an incestuous couple, dwarves and homeless people, all of them struggling to get by. NR is the most uncompromising look at alienation, a raw and violent depiction of society and the gaps it creates. If you ever get the chance to see it, please do so, it´s one of those forgotten masterpiece"
here's a clip from the movie set to some music by world's end girlfriend (maybe sliightly nsfw)
so yea, it's one of my favourite movies and the name kinda has a nice ring to it (:

 Re: Discuss your user-name
Waah! Noisy Requiem, that movie looks amazing but I couldn't find it either on Amazon.com or at Amazon.jp so it looks like it isn't available. That really sucks since my two favorite things in the whole world are outsiders and the city of Kyoto. Anyways, I chose the name of my supreme idol, the wandering hermit poet Saigyo, because he's err like my supreme idol. I love his poetry so much that I taught myself to read the Japanese of a thousand years ago so that I could read his poetry in the original language.

 Re: Discuss your user-name
@Saigyo that little blurb from imdb is wrong, i think. it actually takes part in osaka, in an area called kamagasaki. if you're interested here's a little blurb from midnight eye on the area:
"Today, the Kamagasaki neighborhood of Shin Sekai is Japan's biggest homeless area and the closest thing Japan has to an actual slum area. The rest of Shin Sekai either turned to the red-light business or remained trapped and frozen in time. Walking through the shopping arcades there today with their cheap and trashy thrift stores and plethora of drinking outlets is like stepping back in time... like entering the movies and going straight back to 1962 at one corner or to 1973 at another. Never back to a happy past, though, but back to a desperate post-war Japan mired in poverty."
unfortunately its impossible to buy anywhere with english subtitles (none were ever released), but i can invite you to an site where you down download it fansubbed (if you're not against piracy!)
wandering hermit poet, eh.. that sounds very fun, i think i will look into him a bit more. maybe i will have a new idol too (:

okey, send your email address in a private message and i'll forward the invite to your mail. for some reason it doesn't allow hotmail/msn or yahoo addresses, so something other than that will work.

 Re: Discuss your user-name
The reason I chose BraveLittleToaster as my user name is... ... ... ... me no know. I barely remember this film anyway yet I felt compelled to use it. That doesn't explain much but there you go. Toasters? Going on adventures? Craziness. Everytime I see your avartar syc it reminds me of Killer7 for some bizzare reason.

"Icarus" has been a common forum username for me for a little over a year now. I like it because it's gender ambiguous, and because I enjoy history and mythology, especially the tale of Icarus.

I don't really know where Wantaztik came from. I just kinda thought of it one day. If I remember correctly, the first place I used it was on Last.fm. After that, I grew to like it more and started using it as my username on most things from then onwards.

 Re: Discuss your user-name
I just made mine up one day and have used it for several things. I wanted to use something unique for this forum but I gave up after two hours of trying to come up with something. I just couldn't think of anything I felt comfortable with for some reason. Thinking up nicknames for all my pokémon in Heartgold is hell.

Dr. Toxicophilous was a guy in a book who overwrote reality with his own bizarre fantasies. That appeals to me. Plus it sounds cool and it's never taken.

Yeah, I took my name from that movie Noroi. I kinda want to be Mr. Hori when I grow up, also I thought Ectoplasmic Worms are probably the single coolest things ever. It's also my posting handle on /x/.

My username is derived from the name of the deadly poisonous plant (genus Solanum) - I thought that that fact and the name in itself was kind of dark and mysterious in a poetic way, which I like.

Commander Keen is an old computer game series for DOS (back in the 90s). Made by the same company that brought us Wolfenstein 3D and Doom later on

Mine's dumb. "Shmoo" is just a sound i find amusing for no particular reason. It somehow reminds me a cow with a lisp, even though I know cows with lisps will not make that sound.

Agreed agreed. I grew up playing the Apogee/3D Realms games for DOS. Halloween Harry, Biomenace, Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure and all those gems. I think I first started playing the games when my uncle gave me a demo compilation called "25 Great Action Games".
