 More staff/VIP than members?  I swear, there are more VIP/Staff than members. Or at least, they make up like 90% of the posts on HikiCulture. Lookat this stuff! It's amazing how many staff/vip's seem to outpost every member ever on this here board. I thought VIP/Staff were supposed to be a bunch of secluded well-known-but-not-too-seen group... HC proves this wrong.

Re: More staff/VIP than members? HC seems less "exclusive" than other forums I've been on. Perhaps because it's relatively easy to join the elites. Or maybe it's because I'm a mod and have been one longer than I was a lowly...>>

I think a person automatically becomes a VIP once they reach a certain amount of posts, or if they log in & post frequently, so that's probably why there are so many VIP's. I didn't do a thing to become a VIP, I just suddenly one day was one lol & I think that's how it is for most people.

Unless something's changed since my days as a mod, then VIP status is still awarded manually from a staff member, although I am pretty sure there is an option for an automatic VIP system. I think the overall balance between regulars, VIPs and staff is about right. VIP should only be given to those who contribute a lot, so you are naturally going to see a lot of their posts. The staffs on forums sometimes aren't very active, but here on HC, they are. Could be why so many of their posts show up.
