Re: Nick Vujicic - motivational speaker
this is bullshit. happniess is not build on simply changing ones views in an instant just because they cannot objectively argument with someone they feel bad for.

Re: Nick Vujicic - motivational speaker
I think that this type of motivational speaking that be misinterpreted in various ways, such as "Well, you should be grateful because you're not like me" or "It can be much worse". I think that portraying that message won't really work, especially since most of that goes in one ear and out the other for those who are truly suffering. A girl who has been suffering with low self-esteem and low self worth for her whole life cannot be suddenly "cured" by someone telling her that she's beautiful, you know? I think the motivational "high" is short-lived. We listen to a person, we look at our life and think "Oh, it's not that bad" and something else happens, so we spiral down to where we once are.
People have always told me "it could be much worse" or, "at least you're not homeless, disfigured, etc, etc". But...this is the life I'm living. I can think of all the worse situations all that I want, but it won't make my own problems go away. I believe we have the right to analyze our own life, and I don't think it's right for anyone to say that we could have it worse because they do not know how we feel. A situation like a family member dying can vary among from person to person when it comes to emotions...I don't know.
I'm really glad the speaker accepted his conditions and has found happiness, but, it's just hard to really listen to them. Especially when they say and think they know how you feel, when they don't.
