 Back in the kitchen!
Today, I auditioned for a cooking job and got it. I'm happy to be doing this kind of work again. Every time I quit a restaurant job, I say to myself that I'll never cook for a living again - you have to be over-heated (no time to stop for a sip of water) and dirty, with a sore back, for most of your shift. But when I take time away from it, I miss it. A restaurant kitchen just feels like home; I know what to do without being told. And I like getting a workout and feeling tired at the end of my shift . . . and getting free food.
I think I'm going to get a second restaurant job too. Use the tourist season to save up money for whatever comes next.

 Re: Back in the kitchen!
I'd like to get a cooking job. I don't think I can get jobs in general that easily, though. If there's anything I'm not so positive about, it is trying to get a job.

I'm actually learning to cook Chicken at 7-11. Least they want me to learn that.
So...I dunno if it's really "cooking".

Sounds like my mom. She talks like that, and she's a chef too who's been in and out of the restaurant line of work.

I thought this thread was going to be about what I yell at my girlfriend every day.
Congratulations on the job Ivory, that's awesome. That's one job I would enjoy.

You're a bad man Syppress! (Not that the same connotation didn't occur to me either -.-)
I wondered why we hadn't seen much of Ivory lately. I saw her post today but I guess her job has been keeping her busy otherwise. Good thing, I think; not for us but for her.
