Re: If you had a lot of money to blow right now...
Well my father is the hardest working person I've known, and I feel guilty because he supports me right now. I'd rather just give them the money, or give it to a fundraiser that works to find a cure for juvenile diabetes so my sister can be cured. Then I'd be on my way and support myself. Thanks, but they've still had to put up with me for all these years. I don't even know if it would make us even.

Re: If you had a lot of money to blow right now...
Either grab all the money and make sure i have a nice living for myself (the strict bare necessities for a nice living, i think the most expensive thing would be the internet bill and the occasional little luxury ) and then donate all of the remaining money to a philantropistic foundation or any sort of worthy goal, or make something with the money that would automatically make more money to donate even more money to a worthy humanitarian goal . Or this, yeah, this is really great too . About my family, i think i would do basically the same as K00ke, and by the way Aconcit: That's really admirable of you, i congratulate you!

Well, either way i wish you luck. LOL, that's... Pretty revolutionary for a show, who knows, it might start a trend/movement in shows... (Now i wanna know what that show is about, the worst of all is that it sounds interesting and i will probably end up seeing it ) ...Oh dear god the future .

Re: If you had a lot of money to blow right now...
It depends on how much money "a lot of money" is... i'd buy all the books, DVDs and games i want, plus a 3DS plus some games for it. If we're talking more money than that, then I'd join a program like this to help preserve the leatherbacks and other endangered turtles. I'd stay on projects like that until I ran out and had to go home. That's my dream. http://www.earthwatch.org/exped/sammy_teen.htmlIf we're talking even more, then I'd like to buy a huge troipcal island with huge sandy beaches for the same purpose as described above. My own little armada of nesting leatherbacks and Kemp-Riddleys.... I'd def donate to turtle friendly organisations, like Sea Turtle Restoration Project, SEE Turtles and the Head start program.

Re: If you had a lot of money to blow right now...
This question leaves me with a very ambivalent feeling.
On the one hand there sure are things I'd want for myself, but on the other hand I know I can live with very little and that there is a whole lot of misery in this world I could do something about if I had a lot of money.
Thinking about it logically I'd have to choose the latter option and spend my money to help just causes (or at least what I perceive as such), because if I'd spend the rest of my days knowing that I spend that money for myself without really needing anything, I'd either have to forget who I am, which doesn't seem desirable, or feel awkward for the rest of my days, which would ruin every joy of a rich lifestyle. On the other hand, if I would spend the money on things I believe in, I could remain integer personally. I wouldn't miss anything I don't need anyway.
That I don't need certain things doesn't mean that I wouldn't want them if I had the opportunity to do so without the side-effects mentioned above. I'd love to travel the world, to go on studying forever and I'd probably move to Canada or Denmark, but that's basically it, I'm afraid.
It's really hard for me to think of material things I could want. I would buy land in the woods perhaps and built the wooden cabin I have always dreamed spending at least a few years in. Apart from that I'd love to buy a house in Italy for my parents, because that's their dream. I'd buy a flat and furniture somewhere and give it to my best friend, who is a hiki, as a gift. I'd sign a contract granting him a life long rent to live from without ever having to fear financial disaster. I'd stuff this flat with books about physics and other things I know he likes. Furthermore, I might consider sponsoring some chilled, pressure-free architecture projects for my ex from Berlin, who has been talented and lucky enough to find a job in a reasonably good and well known architecture firm, but who works like a slave now and feels stressed out and alone. I would thank my other ex's parents, who have selflessly helped me in a desperate situation, by sending them on a long and relaxing vacation. My other ex from when I was a hiki would miraculously find a large sum of money in his mailbox to spend on whatever he likes without any explanation or letter.

Re: If you had a lot of money to blow right now...
I would buy a really awesome house, like an old cottage in a beautiful location. Somewhere close to the sea with a forest near by I think. Or an old warehouse in the city and convert it into a really awesome flat.
I'd love to buy some of those French wind turbines, the vertical ones for my house too, and solar panels and heat pipes and geothermal energy taps.
I would also buy as many underground chambers around the city as I could since they might come in handy someday for art collectives, private functions, or survival shelters.
I'd also love to by some broadcast towers on various mountain hill tops so I can inject pirate signals into the sky. Or a radar station / observatory so I can scan the heavens.
Hmm, or also a huge geodesic dome / biosphere.

Re: If you had a lot of money to blow right now...
Here, I assume I have both unlimited money and time to do whatever I want now.
I'd thank Aillas for bringing the possibility of thinking about the thought of having tons more money that I can blow, with no certainty of extra costs - well, other than the cost of Aillas and others in this forum to help me start thinking, what will I do with a lot of money?
When I mean, 'a lot of money', I assume I have the wealth of Warren Buffet/Bill Gates and I'm even richer than Mark Zuckerberg.
I'll first focus on getting a country where I can obtain a good citizenship where I get reasonable amount of minimum welfare, so that when things go wrong, I still have something to chew on. This is not present in the United States and my native country, Singapore. I guess a good place to live would be the Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, United Kingdom/Dublin, Ireland/Townsville, Australia/Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada/Dunedin, New Zealand.
I'll visit Aillas as soon as I get a good citizenship that allows me to 'survive' better, and then perhaps move to the United States to settle there (though not becoming an American citizen). When you're rich, you'd naturally want to live in the United States, one of the two or three remaining countries where it matters throughout the world. If Aillas wants to be my personal assistant, I'd gladly hire him to be my driver, my homie, my every-man.
I'll hope to settle in the only town where it's north of Canada - Detroit, Michigan, so that Aillas feels close to his home country. That's besides the point - I want to have enough money and time to do the most for humanity.
First, with all the money I have at almost no cost, I mean, really a ton of money, isn't it great to use them to help overthrow the corrupt Michigan state regime with my money alone - even without being an American citizen - and elect those people who can bring about positive change for the great Wolverine state? Then we will indeed increase state taxes to increase financial responsibility. This means, well, increased investments to the state's colleges. I may add some contributions, too! (See para below)
Then, since I have tons of money, I can go ahead and try to enrol in all the courses in community colleges/Michigan State/University of Michigan, so that I can contribute to the State's coffers. Then finally, when it all matters, I hope to 'buy' a letter of recommendation to be a visiting professor in Princeton University, the utopia for academia.
From then, I'll speak about how we can make countries sustainable, how we can protect freedom of speech, how we can make governments more effective, blah...
P.S. I'm straight and I already some lady in mind.
