I acknowledge that you do not need to be a rocket-scientist to be able to navigate and use HikiCulture, but in case any of you people need help with anything, don't hesitate to respond to this thread.

I think that the host (ProPHPBB) disabled everyone on their forums from changing certain profile information, including signatures. Howeverm I'm able to change my signature, but I am an administrator....

I will check with the host in due time to see if this is a host-related thing or if it's just my particular PHPBB settings which are preventing users from changing profile information.

It happens a lot to me, but I thought that was some option set by Chair or one of my firefox extension going nuts.
Also, I would like to know... who is "null"? I sometime see a post created by null, but it isn't a username cause it's not clickable... is it normal?

Hmm, not sure why this would be happening (the random logging out). It's not a setting that I set, so I am confused about this. Is it annoying, or is it just a slight inconvenience to you? Does this happen when you've been idle for quite some time, or does it also happen while you are active and browsing the site? Sometimes sites implement an auto log-out feature if members are inactive for 15 minutes or longer, however, I've never been automatically logged out of here out of the many times I've visited the site, so I don't know why this is happening.

Null is a person who was an administrator here. I banned him over something, but won't get into details. We made up and are on good terms with each other. I invited him to rejoin the site, but he declined since he told me that he's content with just using IRC instead.

Well, it's not annoying, I can survive even if I am logged out once every hour =) It usually happens when I'm not active for about an hour. Maybe I should try a 'plain' browser, just to check if it's a problem from my addons.

Oh, "null" is a username? Sorry, I didn't understand that! :blush I thought it was some kind of error in the forum script that printed 'null' (intended as the null value in programming/scripting) instead of the real username. I totally misunderstood! :blush

OK, it's most likely an auto log-out security feature then. It's probably just logging you out to prevent strangers from going onto your account. It is actually a good feature to have.

Hello.
This question more relates to the IRC, but whenever I try to log on, it won't connect me to the channel. That, and if I try to log in with the /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password command, nothing happens.
Help? ^^;

Don't login with that command. Just type the user-name you want to use and click on connect.

I just tested the chat-box and it's working fine.

Er, what I mean is, it won't connect to the channel.
It tells me when I get on that the Nick is taken, etc. So that I have to use the command to prove it's me. ^^;
The chat was working fine from school. Could it be the network I'm on?

Worked fine for me, so it must be the connection you are using.

Post I can't post.
Hi friends!

It seems that I can't post in this forum, it sometimes accept my post but mainly it doesn't accept anything and it always shows an orange message telling me that the submitted form is too short, when it isn't really. What can I do? Is that a kind of bug or something?

I find it somewhat ironic to see a post titled "I can't post" :p

Well, when I reply to a thread it shows me that error. If I create the post it's different somehow, you don't need to be sarcastic with me though. Peace man!

I got such a message today, too.
Happened when I wanted to quote someone (clicking on this quote button).
When I saw it didn't work I copied my text, went back and clicked on the reply button. Put my text there and submitted it.
It worked.

But I don't know if that was the reason. I just wanted to tell how it happened to me.

Yeah, I have seen this a few times myself. The only things that i can think of that could cause this are: 1.) incorrect cookie settings. Try clearing cookies/cache and see if that helps. 2.)If you are using a PDA or phone to connect, try loading the page as basic html. 3.) It is a glitch in the server, that occurs during time of load, or some other reason.
