 Your current obsession(s)
What are you currently obsessed with? I'm currently obsessed with panorama photos. I can't prevent myself from looking through the photos on this Flickr group. I'm saving a whole bunch of photos from the group and will use them as forum signatures.

 Re: Your current obsession(s)
Knitting.
Most people think it's pretty lame, but it's really probably one of the more rewarding hobbies I've had. I'm less into standard "knit a sweater granny" and more into fandom knitting. Harry Potter is the big one, because it's a very knit-heavy series, both books and movies. My goal is actually to pioneer the A Song of Ice and Fire fandom knitting scene. There's a very small craft scene out there, but not much for knitting beyond a direwolf hat. I want to do a Fair Isle scarf for the Lannisters most of all, with their crest and words, and in my mind it's really awesome, but I kind of have a ways to go before I'm at a high enough skill level.
It's an expensive hobby, though. Well, sort of. You can get really cheap shitty acrylic yarn for nothing, but good yarn can be outrageous. For some Blue Sky Alpaca stuff it's like $18 a skein, which is only 100 yards. Standard skeins are like 200 yards. To put that in perspective, I'm using 5 200-yard skeins of yarn for the Slytherin scarf I'm making now. I payed $18 for all of that, and I'm using an okay-ish wool/acrylic blend. Then bitches get all snobby about not using expensive yarn and it makes me feel inadequate because even if I *had* a job I still couldn't afford the $90 it costs to make the same fuggin' scarf out of super special alpaca pubic yarn.
I bet this post is the lamest thing ever posted on HikiCulture.

 Re: Your current obsession(s)
My obsession is still the same thing it has always been.... people . Though the people have changed somewhat, I'm still "obsessed" with Katee Sackhoff, among others.

Wasabi Doritos. I'm so happy they brought them to the US! They gave them a totally retarded name, though.

 Re: Your current obsession(s)
I need an obsession to tide me over until I get to go hiking and play music again. Living in the city without much music makes my life pretty dull. I need an obsession that doesn't require money, and can be pursued in an urban environment. Any ideas?

Aha! I used to be into urban exploration long ago, but had nearly forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder.
