Parkour. :smile2

Anyways, I'm obsessed with George R.R. Martin. Again.

I don't have an obsession right now so I'm feeling a little empty.

:laugh That kind of looks like fun. Too bad I don't like running that much - at least where people can see me. (I sometimes run when I'm alone in the woods.)

Anyway, I found an obsession or two! In preparation for returning to Maine next month, I'm reading up on homesteading and self-sufficiency in general. It seems kind of stupid since I'll be returning to a neglected garden, but at least before I left, I gave the apple trees a good pruning, stocked up on firewood, started using the fireplace for cooking. When I get back, I can get ready to fish, start learning how to hunt deer (food to get me through the winter), hopefully do some late-season planting (potatoes? spinach? cabbage?), and canning, and clean the chimney to make it safer and more efficient. Ideally, I'd like to get the house's heating and plumbing shut off for the winter but still live in it. From what I've learned so far, it might not be that hard.

My temporary city obsessions are lawn bowling and getting lost on trains. I like the fact that Sydney has double-decker commuter trains.

Organic bath products...

Castile soap is awesome. It's like Ivory on steroids, but with this nice lovely moisturized feeling that lasts for days, like you rubbed olive oil into your skin. It cleans really well, too. Gets all of the armpit deodorant residue gunk with hardly even scrubbing.

I don't live in Australia now. I'm just visiting. And it's illegal to import bones between the US and Australia, at least as a normal airline passenger. I had better luck finding bones and antlers in the US anyway. Unfortunately, most of my collection has gotten lost in one way or another, but I still have the skull of a cow with a deformed horn. The horn grew forward and curved, penetrating the skull just under the eye socket, and it has a weird texture compared to normal ox horns. Shockingly, this cow was fully mature when it died; it had obviously lived for a while with a horn poking a deeper and deeper hole into its skull.
