Which of the two looks better?





The kanji says "Alone" and the pattern used for the banner on the left has a Japanese style to it.

PS. I won't use either as a logo - I will use them as forum signatures.

Well if you end up using the second one as your signature, can I have the first one for my signature?

I really like the first one, if it were to be used as a logo, all it would need is some type of border around the letters to make them pop out from the pattern set behind them. I love how the first one looks though!

I think I'll go with the first, but you can still use it.

Would you use it on other forums that you frequent? It would actually be good if users here would be bold enough to stick links to HikiCulture in their forum signatures, but I'm not sure if many users would have the guts to. Lots of the users here unfortunately seem to be embarrassed to be a part of this community, which is a shame.



That could easily be applied as the image file is saved on my hard-drive as a PSD file with all layers intact, which means that I'm able to edit anything in it.

I personally don't like drop shadows or strokes much as I find that they often make text look tacky, but I may apply one or the other to the text and re-post it.

depends what they're being used for. if you're actually using them for advertising the first is definitely more eye-catching but it's a bit busy. if it's just for this site then the 2nd one is much better.. would be cooler if another color was introduced into some of the text though.

I made a couple variations of the top banner:





The first banner is actually a drop shadow with the fill opacity set to 0%.

The second banner has a small drop-shadow added to it. If you look close enough, you can notice it. If I wouldn't have added it, the text would have been harder to make out.

Definitely the bottom, imo. It's easier to make out.

You should just make this thread a place to collect forum banners and people can pick and choose which ever they like best to help promote the forum.

lol I just joined some lame forum for social anxiety for the sole purpose of sticking my snazzy new banner in my sig and those ass-hats disabled IMG in sigs!

Still joined and made nice sized text link signature to the forum though.

I joined up to a few social anxiety forums a while ago, but only one or two of them impress me. I mostly use the boards to re-create some of my better threads from here so that I can see how the responses vary from board-to-board.

Ah, that board. It's so/so.

The best social anxiety board I've come across is SAUK. It's a British site, but whatever - British people are tolerable. I don't think they'd kick you out for not being British. If they question your Britishness, simply snap a photo of yourself drinking a cup of tea or something.

Sure enough, sip some tea and express a fondness for Page 3 girls.

They're both nice but the 2nd feels more hiki-like.

They're both nice, but I too like the second one better.

I prefer the more simplistic, dark look, of the second banner.
