I only watch House and hockey on TV. I bought a nice TV for over $1000 but in order to hook cable up to it I'd have to run a cable through two rooms so I can only use it for movies and video games.

i watch t.v when i'm exercising at the gym since every cardio machine is equipped with a monitor. at home i watch tv with the kid or the husband always shows they want to watch. there are some shows i like to watch but there isn't a single show i care if i see or not. i'm not a fan of watching t.v. online because i'm just not that into the programs. if it were up to me i'd just have the cable turned off and use the main television for things like movies and video games.

There a few programmes I watch on TV every week, but most of the time I'm on the computer. I do watch some programmes on the internet though, because then I can take breaks whenever I want and there are no commercials.

After Doctor Who finishes I probably won't watch any TV at all. It's pretty much the only programme I watch regularly.

I don't really ever watch TV. I like cartoons, though. And I watched BBC's Wild Pacific the other day.

I often wonder if all the TV I've watched over the last 7-8 years has had a detrimental effect on my intelligence. I do kind of go into a zombie-mode while watching. But saying that I know I've learnt a fair bit from television too through the years.

Probably depends on what you watch, but even "educational" programs often
over-simplify events or use sources reviled by the academic community. I
always feel dirty after I watch TV, even though it's just the news.

Need to stop watching Faux -- but Glen Beck is just so hilarious. It's like watching
a train wreck.

For the most part, I just buy/wait for the DVDs to come out. The only show I'm following on TV at the moment is Entourage.

TV is soothing. I watch it at night when I'm tired and anxious.

Also the commercials provide prime break periods for working on something tedious or odious for tolerable 1-2 minute intervals.

If I had/got Sky linked up to my room I'd probably watch a lot more. Usually I'm just watching stuff on the interweb (YouTyoob, torrents etc), or DVDs on my widescreen. Far too often have I decided to climb all the way downstairs for some tasty television time, only to be injected with a tall dose of dissapointment and disgust. :neutral TV is mostly packed full of GUFF. :thumbsdown

Post Re: Do You Actually Watch TV?
TV and movies are both very situational to me. I rarely watch either, but I sometimes find something I like and I can watch it. I mentioned the movie in the Film section, but as for the TV show... Star Trek. Both TOS and TNG come on several times a night--usually all night, across multiple channels. I hate feeling "out of control" when I'm supposed to be enjoying something and going into a movie or TV show knowing "I'm going to have to dedicate the next 30-120 minutes to this" causes me to flip out.

I really can't sit still and enjoy things.
