 True Blood
Anybody like this show? New episodes start Sunday. I don't have HBO so I'll have to get them online.

 Re: True Blood
I love True Blood. But I've seen only the 1st season so far so I can't say much about the following seasons. And I'll smack anyone who claims it's a Twilight copy for adults.

Well there are only so many ideas in the world. Vampires, space ships, and then some other pointless crap.

 Re: True Blood
I absolutely love the show, but I don't have HBO, either so I always download the shows, & burn them to a dvd so I can watch them on my tv, or watch them online. I don't like watching stuff on my computer, which is why I usually burn them, instead. Last night, I really wanted to see the new episode of "True Blood," but instead, I watched the last episode of season 2 online. I'm going to search for it today. Hopefully it's available to download by now, but I may have to wait even longer.

 Re: True Blood
True Blood is pretty lame from what I've had the misfortune of seeing. I saw the first episode when the show was airing at my friend's house because his mom is really into stuff like that. I thought the acting was awful.

 Re: True Blood
I've been really getting into the show (and the books it's based off of) a lot lately. I actually can't wait to watch the new episode that comes out tonight (though I won't get to watch it until tomorrow due to work)!

I don't know much about the books. I hear they're a lot different.

 Re: True Blood
I was very excited when it was aired here. What a letdown! Nothing but trash talk and sex, no thanks. A couple of episodes were more than enough for me. I definitely won't be reading the Sookie books. Only good thing iis the name Sookie!

 Re: True Blood
I've only read the first book, but I plan on reading the rest eventually. Personally, I love the show much more. Some of my favorite characters don't even exist in the books, at least not in the same way. Like Tara & LaFayette.

This show's getting to be a real pain in the ass to find. That's why I still trust real tv more than internet tv.

 Re: True Blood
I just found these episodes online and watched a couple the other day. Damn, Sam's family are morons! "I can transform into any animal. Now how do I make money with this skill?? I know! I'll be in dog fights!"

 Re: True Blood
I always download episodes via torrent & burn them to a dvd to watch them, since I don't have HBO & hate watching things directly on my computer. The episodes are really easy to find via torrent & take virtually no time to download.
I was really upset this week though, that there was no episode, presumably because of Labor Day, & will not be another one until next week. I was really looking forward to it.
& I agree with you about Sam's family, Dr Toxicophilous.

 Re: True Blood
the next episode will be the season finale. I love True Blood. The acting's bad but the whole thing works and is very entertaining. I love how the whole season has the span of just a few days (maybe like 10 days) that's true of this season and the 2nd.
If you get it by torrent it downloads very fast and is online the same night it airs or Monday morning.

 Re: True Blood
Yeah, I found it to be overly sexual, myself. Which is a turn-off for me. Not a surprise, though, as nearly everything on TV these days is saturated in sex.

 Re: True Blood
I really liked the season finale though a lot of people are bitching about it. I'm really interested to know what the fairies are going to do with Sookie. My main complaint about this show is the stupid twelve episodes a year. Like Julian said, each season only covers a few days. Yet most of a year passes between seasons. Eventually the actors must get sick of doing it. I wonder how long it can go on.
Dumb question, William is a civil war name and Erik is a viking name but what kind of a 3000 year old name is Russel?

 Re: True Blood
He's not that old in the book. He's also really short, has red hair, and Talbot is a human. And the reason he captures Bill is because Bill is working on a database of all the vampires in the world and he wants it...and when Sookie comes to rescue him, Russel doesn't even know who Sookie is and he merely lets her stay overnight at his house because she saved his second in command from getting staked and then got staked herself... Yeah. The books are much different and a lot stupider than the TV show. I love this show. I can't really pinpoint why, either. It just tickles me shitless. The next season starts at the end of June, so I'm excited. I wish they would condense two books into one season, which would give them five seasons of material. They already stray from the book quite a bit, in very good ways, so it's feasible. And barely a week passes between each book anyways, so there's not even the problem of time to deal with.

 Re: True Blood
I wish the seasons would last longer. Each season is only 13 episodes & lots of other shows have 20 episodes per season. "True Blood" seasons seem as if they end as soon as they begin.

It's times like these that you're happy you have Castlevania.
