After recently watching the AMAZING documentary, The King Of Kong, I decided to try and find the game (Donkey Kong) online. It was pretty easy to find one. Anyway I thought it might be fun to have a little friendly competition and see who on HikiCulture could get the highest score on the notoriously difficult game. I'm not sure if you can take a screen shot of your score or not, so unless someone knows how to we'll just have to take each others word. The all time high score is something like, 1,050,000, so there's something to aim for . Here's the game:

King Of Kong was good. I liked the challenger guy, but the other guy was an ass in my book.

The game in the link you posted wouldn't let me progress past the first stage. It was resetting each time I beat it. I may try by emulator later on.

I will check out that documentary. I also had the same problem as FONEternal, but it's not like I would've survived on later stages anyway considering I died a billion times. I guess I'm rusty since my childhood days of playing this on my "Game & Watch" at school

I'll give it a try if I can use MAME. I think a cool thread would be HC highscores where we could post our scores for others to try and beat.

Yeah my bad. I couldn't find a game where you could get past the first level or two. Kind of annoying but what can you do. Guess this thread is rendered kind of pointless now...

New and sorta improved high score, with video.

I haven't beaten MidnightLight's score but second highest score is cool enough for me.

There'll be a new DK for Wii which plays very similar to the DK Country games from SNES(I miss them too) soon :) The graphics are 3d but the gameplay is flat like it used to be. I got to try it at Gamescom for a little, really liked it.

I'm looking forward to this game. The first two donkey kong country games on the snes are still two of my all time favorites.
