Re: What are your favorite Beatles songs?
Just as with most bands/artists that came out before I was born, I just don't get their appeal. I just never understood it. Like Soleiyu, I've never liked their music. Not only do I just find their music to be unenjoyable, I don't like the fact that I hear them being referred to as the first rock band (or something of the sort), when their music wasn't rock at all. It was purely pop. The Beatles were not much different than the boy bands of today. They sound like a boy band, dress like a boy band, & were a boy band in all ways. I'm sure that if the Beatles were to be released as a brand new band today, everyone would lump them in with other boy bands & they wouldn't be given much respect at all. Most of their fans would be teenagers & soon after, they would fade away like all the others do.

Re: What are your favorite Beatles songs?
I've never been mad into the Beatles, but I certainly enjoy them generally. The only few songs that come to mind which I like/love & will pop on occasionally are "She loves you", "Paperback writer", "I wanna hold your hand", and "I feel fine". Oh, and "Love me do"....... and "Yesterday".... and "A Hard Days Night"..... and "Day Tripper"....... "Eight days a week".... hmm, there's probably more. People who moan about their reputation as being the "best band in the world" need to chill. I've never been bothered about hype and why some things get so popular, or why some things get such god-like status even. People will say stuff about something like "it's good, but very overrated", and I wonder why it matters to someone if something's more popular than they think it's worth? Long ago I realised that the world appears to be a majority of retards, morons & pricks, and therefore the Spice Girls having been as massive as they were is clearly the result of such a world. It certainly doesn't mean they were good anyway. Basically my point is that I prefer to ignore the hype around things and just judge for myself. I generally can't be arsed to argue or try and "correct" someone's opinions, let alone go looking to read reviews that I disagree with . So yeah, I would just say the Beatles were a great band, but I'd say the same about a fuckload of other bands/artists. I wonder which bands of today will have the same kind of legendary status that the Beatles have...? If the Beatles were released today, they wouldn't be the Beatles. And I really don't see how they could be comparable to the boy bands of today, in my opinion/fact (l0l), "boy bands" of today are vastly different from what you would consider boy bands back then. Not to mention how 60s/70s (older) analogue recordings also makes the Beatles listening experience a lot more special than it would be if they'd recorded it all today. I haven't spent loads of time wording that perfectly, so hopefully you get what I mean. But yeah, I cannot think of any "boy bands" of modern times that are similar to the Beatles.

Re: What are your favorite Beatles songs?
I'd say that the Beatles were only a "boy band" in their very early years back in a time when record labels had lots of control over their bands/artists. I don't think The Beatles ever were totally "manufactured" though. They played together long before they even had any kind of record deal and wrote their own music. IMO, the best Beatles is everything from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band upwards as they started getting a lot more experimental and were "sick of being Beatles". They really started going against the trends of the day and did their own thing. They also quit doing things like dress up in matching outfits, etc. like they did in the early days. Some of the early Beatles stuff actually makes me cringe quite a bit, but I love the latter stuff. It's much less poppy. I definitely wouldn't consider Abbey Road or The White Album as being "pop" albums - - "Pop" as in "popular", yes - - but not pop music. I'm actually quite surprised at how successful some of the latter albums are. It seems like they'd be far too experimental for the masses. You should maybe give the latter Beatles albums a try sometime, Lyrical. I won't guarantee that you'll like them, but you'll see that they aren't nearly as poppy as the earlier, more accessible stuff.

Fuck, sorry, I got carried away. Anyway here are some of my favorites. I only linked to videos that weren't already posted. If I was going to make a top 10 list it would definitely have Strawberry Fields and Across The Universe on it.
