Post Stephen Hawkings Into the Universe

Quote:
Into The Universe with Stephen Hawking is an epic new kind of cosmology series, a Planet Earth of the heavens. It takes the world's most famous scientific mind and sets it free, powered by the limitless possibilities of computer animation. Hawking gives us the ultimate guide to the universe, a ripping yarn based on real science, spanning the whole of space and time -- from the nature of the universe itself, to the chances of alien life, and the real possibility of time travel.

Here's a segment from my favorite episode "Time Travel":

Anyone else watch this series yet?

I've watched bits of it too. Not the best show of it's kind imo.

I'd like to watch this and other stuff by Stephen Hawking, but I admit that some of his views are far-fetched. A lot of these brilliant mathematicians make me laugh. Some almost act as if they're mediums rather than in the field of mathematics and spew out lots of far-fetched predictions. I believe it's very important to have a strong imagination, but believe that the imagination sometimes can cause the mind to go way off track.

Is there any particular episode you're referring to, Chair? Or is it generally everything in the series?

The alien thing seemed a bit off, but it's a possibility. The whole wannabe-Galactus devourer of the worlds "nomad aliens" concept kinda made me laugh. Though what else is your hyper-advanced alien species going to do when, not if, they exhaust all of their planets resources? Either face extinction or move on to other sustainable planets. Maybe in 100 years or so you'll see us do this too... all aboard to Mars!
