I ve been incredibly depressed recently, more than i ve ever been and i m not really sure why. It s just recently, all the things i used to enjoy no longer grant me any pleasure. Everything s just so unfulfilling and i m left feeling numb.

I d like to know what makes all of you happy? Favourite activities, favourite people, anything you look forward to in your life and that gives you joy.

Physical exercise, and school work. Music as well.

Sleeping for more than a few hours. Driving. Music. My family. Vodka tonics.

I knew about the vodka tonics.

Do you drive alone, or with other people usually? Do you like to be the one driving, or do you like it better when someone else is at the wheel?

I usually drive by myself, listening to music. It relaxes me until I start feeling guilty about my carbon footprint. I'm trying to replace it with riding my bicycle now...so far it's not working very well.

Currently I seem to have anhedonia and can't find anything to alleviate depression. Going jogging does seem to help clear my mind and relax me some but doesn't help much. Usually my dog makes me happy but that would only lasts for a short time.

Lots of things make me happy:

. Eating food
. Conversing with someone I like and am able to feel comfortable with
. To watch a good film
. To read a good book
. To watch a good TV show (there are so few though....)
. To listen to a good song (I think I'd be dead right now if music didn't exist since life would be so generic)
. To tinker around with various applications on my computer (yeah.... I'm a nerd)
. To play a good video-game
. To smoke a joint (depends what kind of trip I have. I often get paranoid on pot)
. To consume alcohol until I feel 'good' (not until the point where I puke my guts out for 24 hours straight like I've done a few times)
. To watch/listen to good stand-up comedy
. Astronomy

I have respect for beer! and pot!
What video games are you into?

For the past few years I've just used emulators.

I like the old-school Squaresoft RPGs I played when I was young. I play them using Zsnes, which is the best Super Nintendo emulator out there.

I like to go swimming if I get really sad, but I only go in the morning to avoid people, and because of my new school I can't do that any more ._... Well just talking to people about random things makes me happy too.

Drawing or doing something kind for someone else. Sleeping too...

Music, Gaming, Friends, Composing.

When I get depressed usually some sort of arts or crafting project makes me feel better. I tend to go into a rather meditative state.

Music helps me to relax... but so does the whirring of cpu fans and the subtle clicking of hard drives...

Sex, reading, dreaming, writing, meditation, the internet.

Eating. Playing/Listening to music. Playing video games. Exercise. Physical labor. Reading. Talking to particular people online. Hugs (although I almost never get those).

A cup of hot chocolate, a good book and a comfortable bed. Most of the time, the simplest things make me happiest.

That's funny, I also was dreaming about get hugged, the hug never came though. I think I can be rather happy listening to some reggae music, drinking a cup of coffee and eating a tuna sandwich.

All three of those are great. Especially tuna sandwiches. Inexpensive, too.

I am UNHAPPY unless the tuna in my sandwich is mixed with
light mayo, scallions, minced onions, lemon juice and a dash of tabasco.

Sitting on a deck listening to music with some good friends and beers, smoking pot, listening to music and playing music, being in a relationship, seeing my parents happy etc..

nature documentaries in which animals are eaten by other animals.
also, driving around aimlessly, looking at other people's front gardens.
and a hot breakfast makes me very happy.

front of my place of residence. I would wonder whether it
was someone I had pissed off years ago and they were here
to finally right the wrong.

I should've just assumed they were scoping out the hibiscus plants.

Happy people make me happy. Not when people make loud theatrical outbursts of emotion, but the true and unmatched experience of true happiness. Perhaps a parent and child having a good time, perhaps a young couple. People who find great joy in something, such a certain subject. All these and more make me amazingly happy, and what makes me the most unhappy is when people are unhappy or experience injustice.

The problem for me is a lot of the things that make me happy can also bring my mood way down, and most of the time I have little control over which way it goes. Like, supporting liverpool is great when they're winning, but shit when they win 1 game in 10. Winning money on poker or betting on football makes me happy, losing money not so happy.
