 I hate work
If you have a job does it leave you too exhausted to do anything else? I've been up for a few hours and it's almost time to go back. I really don't see how people have jobs and do anything else. All I can do is drag myself in front of the tv or the computer, maybe read a little if I'm feeling really energetic, and then it's back to work. Basically the whole work week is one semiconscious blur followed by two little days of freedom and recovery.

 Re: I hate work
Sounds like my life. With work it varies for me, I have been doing the same crap job for the past 3 years. I have been promised a transition, however, there is still a lot of work to be done. The days just crawl by when I am depressed... which seems to be everyday as of recently.

 Re: I hate work
i hate work too. mostly because of the humans i have to interact with when i am at work. and because you have to work too long. 8-10 hours+2-3hours way to work+tiem you need to make food+housework that noone else does for you leaves mighty NOTHING for yourself, and youre not even gonna be paid good - lol

 Re: I hate work
Today I just couldn't stand work, I wanted out, and to be in my house... I really don't like my job at times. I'm a cashier and I have to deal with people all day, it drains me. I just stand and listen, and I can't even talk back, let alone really communicate. everyone is just in their own little worlds. I really see no real need in talking to people when they really aren't being genuine. And the back of my mind can get really, really nasty at times. like today... it was just snapping at almost every single customer... and another part of my mind was like, "wow, you're in a bad mood, how the hell'd you end up like this?" ((It might have been the headache this morning...))

 Re: I hate work
I don't really hate my job, except on bad days, after all most colleagues are decent people, I get along very well with them most of the time, and the job itself is ok too. It's just that I have and want much more from life than doing the same damn thing every day. I consider myself lucky to have a 20/30 min commute and to stay at the job for exactly 8 hours without breaks. This leaves about 6 hours of freedom on a good day without other impediments, which is not heaven, but livable. What *really* escapes me is how one lives with a job AND children/family duties.

 Re: I hate work
I live alone in a flat apartment, I never go shopping, I have everything brought here for a small fee. The house.... not much to say here, the vacuum cleaner is your friend

 Re: I hate work
I don't see how people live with a family or children because I simply wouldn't want that. Working doesn't bother me too much. As long as the job isn't misery-inducing. I guess I don't mind spending 8 hours working because I don't ever do anything worthwhile when I just sit at home all day. Just part of staying alive, I reckon. No one said it'd be easy. I find I value my free time much more when I have to work a lot as opposed to never having to leave the house.

 Re: I hate work
I'd never live in an apartment unless I had no other choice. Surrounded by people on all sides, throwing money away on rent. Better to just stay in my parents' house.

 Re: I hate work
Yeah but lurking in your parents basement doesn't look right anymore when you reach a certain age.... (it's sort of a social stigma, like unemployment)

I don't care about what society perceives me as. I don't care about society in general, really lol. What I dislike about living with my mom is the burden I put on her. I don't like relying on others.

 Re: I hate work
I wouldn't say my job is hard. It just gets boring. Doing the same tasks everyday doesn't really exhaust me since I've gotten used to it a long time ago. Talking with the customers isn't part of my work, so it's no problem for me either.

 Re: I hate work
I have a sweet job that allows me to work from anywhere, and I go to school online. But I've been hating work since a few days ago. It started when I discovered that I can't get my new computer to recognize html or xhtml; I mean it works online but not on stuff that has yet to be FTP'd. Fucking does my head in. This "MacBook Pro" can't display an html or xhtml or xml document as a web page?? WTF??? I'm NOT going to upload it without viewing it on my machine first, and I've quadruple-checked it to be sure I'm not making any stupid mistakes. Then I kinda said, "OK, fuck the xhtml idea," and installed Joomla!, but it turns out to be a newer version than the one I was using a couple of months ago and I can't get it to work properly. I just want to give up. Oh, and the summer semester starts today, and I just found out that the first assignment is due in a week.

 Re: I hate work
The only thing I hate about my job is having to watch shitty television shows to transcribe them. I can not stand watching reality TV and all that fake bullshit. Some of the stuff I type out makes me want to slam my head into my desk. I can feel my soul dying when I watch this garbage. Other than that, my job is a recluse's dream.

I'm envious, Syppress. That sounds fantastic. I dislike my job, and I don't feel like typing about it right now. I'm grateful to have one though.

 Re: I hate work
I have similar experiences. A few years ago I had a job where I worked four days a week, and when I came home at the end of the day, I had just enough energy to make dinner and watch TV. And then I had to get to bed early, because I had to get up early the next morning. The job itself wasn't so bad, but having to be around other people all day completely drained me. I could hardly handle the long days and I was glad when the job ended. I think if I had been able to work shorter days or work from home I wouldn't have been so tired and my work would have been of a better quality. I actually have to get a job now because I'm running out of money, but this is one of the reasons I'm dreading that.
