Post Screenwriting Brainstorm
I've had a bit of a compulsion to write a screenplay of some sorts recently, well more than recently actually. For many years... I just never get round to it. Too apathetic and whatnot. But maybe i'll end up doing it someday.

Basically, this thread can be a stockpile of ideas and whatnot. At least, ones you don't mind being stolen and used :p

Okay, stream of consciousness, no backspace: There is this guy, or better, this bloke, as they say in England, because that is where he lives aaand this guy — sorry, bloke — is kinda very outgoing but also very shy at the same time, which I know sounds impossible at first, what I basically mean is that he has a talent to make an impression on complete strangers, but that doesn't mean that he has many friends in the narrow sense, that is: the kind of people you call at night if the government needs to be overthrown (which is not to say that the story is about overthrowing a government (not that there is anything wrong with that (okay something may be wrong with that (or not, depends on what the government does (but that's not the point anyway))))); okay, this guy has sort of a midlife crisis, while still being very young, he wants to see a lot of change in the world for the better — but at the same time he is a procrastinator when it comes to even (or is that especially?) the most simple and banal tasks and his dream is to write a screenplay, but he never comes around to do it, until that fateful day when he asks for help on an online forum.

But nobody helps him.

Instead they make stupid jokes about rape and having a crush on Hitler and other shit, which pisses him off, so he decides to "be inspired" by some of their most embarrassing stories (told in personal messages to him) about their personal failures to write a comedy about dorky shy people, which is a success. The families of the forum dorks get some pretty humiliating info out of that movie, so the dorks decide to pool their money together, so that a bunch of them can visit and kill him. This task turns out to be harder than they thought, because whenever they have to interact with people, they fuck up. For example, Hero Bloke (that's his name) flees in a scene on a bicycle from two wannabe killers, so they have to call a taxi, which is really awkward for them, so they have a dispute over who has to make the call. Indeed, this is how they get decimated in the movie: If one of them is too stressed out from a social situation, he kills himself.

Will Hero Bloke prevail?

Dreihänder, thats the most priceless shit I have ever heard...and I approve 100%!
IT'S A HIT! (b^_^)b

What's great about it is that it can be done on a reasonably low budget.
I bet you've got more ideas Dreihänder and you're holding back. You're holding back aren't you?
:D

I'll have a think and see if I can come up with anything - won't be good or well thought out as that of course.

Post Re: Screenwriting Brainstorm
You mean ideas to make into a movie or something (like a short, instead of a book or a graphic novel) right?.

Well... there is this one, if you like it (translated from an word document):

*********************** FOR YOUR EYES ONLY **********************

putrefaction / nekros (last one in greek letters): Joan Molina is absolutely convinced that his body is rotting (which is actually just the result of a mental illness, probably the audience would know this pretty much from the start), and while he attemps to inquire about the nature of his bizarre illness, he goes deeper into the knowledge of the most rare diseases, cults, necrophilia, sites of corpses exhibitions and arts of black magic to manipulate the cadavers and the dead (notice that the things he sees or inquire about not necessarily work for real), and aside from the great macabre feeling the opus has. Joan Molina delves into a putrefaction much more deep and pestilent than one of losing a hand or an eye, the putrefaction of his spirit and of the human soul; As he goes discovering sites of death and adoration to the most horrific genocidals and serial killers of history and delving more into his death spiral, he goes more and more projecting his fictitious putrefaction to the people around him, and in philosophical extension, to humanity in general, as his unmedicated mental health keeps deteriorating, he begins having visual and auditive alucinations, with his obsesion with horror, evil, cadavers and death growing up to the end of his sordid cruzade.

*********************** FOR YOUR EYES ONLY **********************

I think it can be cheap to make for the same reason PI was cheap to make, it's much more driven by what the characters think, believe and perceive rather than things that we as audience see, the auditive alucinations can be easy to make for example, and a good actor would do wonders. At least that's what i think lol.
