Post Two Categorey suggestions
Suggestion 1: Maybe a sub-category in Computers for Programming/Coding. That'd be awesome!!

Suggestion 2: a Spam category with no-post-count condition. This could also contain a "Forum Games" sub-category for those little word games and such. This sort of thing is really popular these days. It could also help filter out all the junk from "random" section to Spam... i think random's intentions weren't meant to be spam like it is currently.

PS, why am i the only person suggesting anything? :scratchhead

When posting about programming/coding, why not just post in the main "Computers" category? Sure - programming and coding may not appeal to everyone who reads that board, and I can see why you'd want a special board for users who share the same interest, but this forum, to begin with, isn't large enough to have a board like that.

Most coders, when in need of help or anything else, seek out actual coding forums comprised of fellow coders - they don't, for example, sign up to boards for reclusive people.

I don't know what you mean by the "no-post-count" condition, but I've seen boards created for spam-like threads. However, I think the Random topic, as it is, should be fine. The silly threads you see in there aren't "true" spam anyway, so it's not a big deal.

He means that posts in there do not count towards post count, which I have seen done on thread game sections before. I don't think thread games qualify as spam though, since it contains material relevant to the description. The random section is as close to spam as we get, yes, but still not really spam(unless it violates a rule of course) since the idea of that section is to post stuff that doesn't fit elsewhere.

Thought he either meant that, or that newly-registered members could post in there without having their posts queued.

We have no rank system based on post-count, which means nobody could "cheat" the rank system anyway. Also, it's not like anyone competes with another to try and get more posts than the next person. To me, the amount of posts someone has is irrelevant, and doesn't have as much importance as you may think. Quality is what I care about - not quantity. However, it's still good to have "fun" threads every now and then, but only if they're not true spam.

To conclude: I think it's pointless here, but can sort of see why other forums implement this.
