 Re: Do you like anime?
I've seen -Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind -Castle in the Sky -Princess Mononoke -Spirited Away -Howl's Moving Castle and they're all worth watching, but I enjoyed Nausicaä the most. My recommendation: give it a try

 Re: Do you like anime?
Heh, i think i preferred "Everything you've ever Dreamed" from Evangelion (they should have included it, but at the ending or the credits, not replacing Komm Susser Tod) Although if i had to choose for a favorite music (well, a favorite anything) of EVA i don't think i could decide, well, except on characters maybe... I think i will give Princess Mononoke a try since i've been hearing of it for some while, thanks for the recommendation faust and nevada! (Also, true, the anime, or the few i saw of it, was just too lighthearted, the ending of chobits, manga i mean, was a bit absurd, but aside from that, it was a really cute manga series.)

 Re: Do you like anime?
I thought GTO was funny maybe not romance comedy but comedy non the less... | | | | Quote: GTO Love Hina Tenchi Muyo - I watched - not interested me, I don't know the rest.
I enjoyed SE Lain, Evangelion, Akira, GiTS, Paranoia Agent, I like Miyazaki's films, Chobits, I love manga Gunnm (cyberpunk story), realistic manga EDEN, first anime I've watched and enjoyed was Sailor Moon (it's cult anime for Polish anime fans)
detroit metal city was great. and Ebichu - about this poor little hamster. | | | | |
please watch clannad or Ai Yori Aoshi they are very in depth anime for romance comedy, and of course please teacher...

 Re: Do you like anime?
I can recommend Clannad aswell.
Other good Animes:
Toradora! (romance/comedy) Lucky Star (random.. wtf?) Trigun (comedy/action) School Rumble (romance/comedy) Samurai Champloo (action) TTGL (action) Fullmetal Alchemist (dunno genre to be honest xD) Spice and Wolf (comedy/"romance") that's about my favourite I think... oh and Strawberry Panic! for obvious reasons
I'm really into anime stuff, so if you say what genre you like, I may be able to recommend more animes ^^

 Re: Do you like anime?
Yes I like anime, best thing is that everything is possible and there are characters you can relate to. And I love the art style of some animes.

 Re: Do you like anime?
Yes, but mostly because I just like animation in general. I really like the visual style and character movement of some anime. This is me: I've seen very few shows and films. I might check out some of the stuff you guys have mentioned here... And like noisy requiem mentioned on the first page -"thought provoking", "[relies] heavily on character development"- I like that, too.

 Re: Do you like anime?
I use to be addicted to it (I still am I guess), but I don't watch as much of it anymore. I still follow whatever ones are airing in Japan and I sometimes watch episodes of ones that have already aired, but that's about it. I use to watch a shitload of anime though. The majority of my day was just me relaxing on my bed and watching anime. Unfortunately I've watched all the good ones and I can't seem to come across any more titles that really interest me.

 Re: Do you like anime?
I think the only anime I've watched is Pokemon and a couple of movie-sized ones. Not really into anime, I like mangas more; they also have the added bonus of no annoying voices!

 Re: Do you like anime?
I'm the opposite. I'm more into anime than manga. I've tried reading manga, but it's just not the same as watching anime. Anime is colorful and the voice actors are one of the best things about it. If you're complaining about annoying voices I'm sure that's only because you were watching it in English and if that's the case I don't blame you. English voice actors just aren't as good as the original Japanese ones. The Japanese put a lot of emotion into their voice work. I only understand a little bit of Japanese, but even so I still watch all my anime in Japanese because I just love the quality of the voice acting. As for Pokemon I've always considered that more of a cartoon even though it is technically an anime. It's probably because 4kids censored anything Japanese related (calling rice balls doughnuts for example), so it's always seemed more like an American cartoon

 Re: Do you like anime?
yes I like anime. I used to watch a lot of it, but now I just can't make the effort of watching the newest series. I usually just wait for series to end and see what was good and then sort through what I would like to watch from that list. But even then I just find it much faster to read manga if the series was based on it. I can usually read a full volume in the same amount of time it would take me to watch one episode. Right now I just re-watch series based on my mood .

 Re: Do you like anime?
I've watched Pokemon in both English and Norwegian, and disliked the voices of both. Usually the Norwegian dub is worse than the English (more "squeaky" and *very* lame sounding) but in Pokemon it was actually the opposite. I've tried watching some on youtube with English and Japanese speech, but I tend to find them both annoying. It's much the same with a lot of cartoons unfortunately but I have more patience with one ca 80 minutes program than an ongoing series. Sigh off topic but... I 'hate' the fact that there are so many great movies from Japan and Korea, because I hate reading movies. It's so easy to miss out on the action when I have to read every word they say. I wish all movies were dubbed to English (not Norwegian, that makes them sound dreadful; they did that to one sit-com once; dreadful! Thankfully we don't have a culture for dubbing movies or series here when they aren't for kids). Oh I hate when they do that in movies/ cartoons/ books etc and I don't understand why they do it. If needed, just explain what it is instead! That's particularly easy in books and mangas. People are better off for learning stuff. It's good for the brain and for their understanding. It can even be interesting. And stop making the names more local sounding!!

That's how I felt when I started watching anime but you do get better at reading and watching at the same time.

 Re: Do you like anime?
I wouldn't say that I am an outright fan, but I enjoy all kinds of animated movies and there certainly have been some anime series I enjoyed watching tremendously, for instance...
Ergo Proxy Claymore Monster Kurozuka Blood + Steins Gate NHK
As you can derive from this list I enjoy gory cyberpunk, science fiction and vampire themed anime. Most often I'm not very lucky finding anime I like. Usually I realize very soon that I don't like an anime, which is the case with regard to 90% of the series I begin to watch.
In general I prefer versions with English subs.
