Since this thread sort of got buried I guess I'll go again. 7.8/10 I've never listened to Japanese metal.

Both of you are banned for stealing my post ^ I refuse to delete my ratings. >_< Valentine's 東方 Touhou Unplugged/Classic 163 8/10 I really liked the violin and it sounds very touhouesque. Joni Mitchell - Morning Morgantown 8/10 because it was great for how I'm feeling right now. I really like the acoustic. Liar! Liar! B`z 4/10 It's not really to my tastes. The lead guitar was pretty cool at some points. Judee Still - The Pear 5/10 Once again it's not really my style.

4/10 - it sounds like it could be something set to a fan-shot d&d movie with homemade costumes made from recycled beer cans and plastic swords. but the musicianship is solid i guess d:

4/10.
Other than a few exceptions, I mostly don't like ska/punk.
Yes - And You and I

4/10 totally boring, sounds like my neighbor jamming his guitar. i guess i have to be way more stoned to understand the clou in this track thought about a 2 at the beginning but that would be unfair since the track is 10 minutes long and theres definately worse music

2/10 A song that sounds like running out of ideas (and lyrics are corny).
Here is a song with insightful lyrics: "Arbeit nervt" by Deichkind.

2/10 There is something "alright" about it but I hate it anyway. What are the lyrics about?

Crippled Black Phoenix: 5/10 There is a payoff, but a bit too much AAAAAOOOOOOWAAAAOOOOOOWAAAAOOOOWAAOO (also, the recording seems to be defect in the last seconds, I ignored this for scoring).
Lucky by Supercar: Solid. 8/10
About "Arbeit nervt":
The lyrics are about the dullness of work, the words that get repeated all the time "Arbeit nervt" mean work gets on your nerves, the repetitiveness of the music makes the form correspond to the content; and this is contrasted in the lyrics with fantasies of "saufen" and "fressen" while at work — eating and drinking. (To be precise: In German, we have two different verbs for drinking and two different verbs for eating, depending on whether a human being or an animal does it; in this song, like sometimes in colloquial language, the animal words are used.)
I said there is a contrasting of work and fantasies about partying in the lyrics. But this contrast in the lyrics isn't accompanied by a change in music to something less mechanical, and indeed very mechanical words are used for partying: "Druckbetankung durch den Trichter" translates literally to "pressure fuelling through the funnel" and "Rohr verlegen" translates literally to "pipe laying" and has the same meaning here like in the language of proles in other countries.
A snotty teenager voice says: "Frühaufstehen ist doch mehr was für dich." This translates to: "Waking up early is more like something for you." The accentuation is perfect. It feels like an authentic real-life snippet. Whenever somebody in the song sounds retarded or annoying, and proud of that, there is method in it.
So the song starts out funny with the message work sucks, so let's party; but then it is about replacing one method of becoming a zombie with another one and gleefully celebrates that we all turn into retarded animal robots. This, not some I-love-satan-boogabooga shit, is the most evil song in the world. Pretty popular at parties here.
I also like this line: "Ehrgeiz ist die letzte Zuflucht des Versagers." Translation: "Ambition is the last refuge of the loser."
Greetings from Robotnaziland.
Next song: "I Say Fever" by Ramona Falls.
