Just curious, is there ever going t obe a Trash and/or Archive category/forum on the board?
Methinks this would be good for clearing the sections from old/irrelevant threads...

I'm just starting to think that might be a good idea. Might be good to have a middle-ground between deleting threads or posts and keeping them where they don't belong, or have some mild potential to cause trouble but wouldn't if removed from context.

Then again, it might be pointless because, uh, do people actually read archives sections on forums? (I know I never have.) And what if it was just full of drama-related tangent posts and spam of the mild variety? Would anyone want to read that? Would it be worth the bandwidth?

I'd be curious to see what others think about this.

The main good thing a trash/archive category would have is that it would make this site be better-indexed in Google. But I wouldn't want to have a bunch of spam threads be exposed to everyone.

Maybe it would make a good example of what NOT to do on the site, and the stuff that annoys people and can get you in trouble. Or maybe if people just for some reason feel the need to get angry or annoyed, they can read it.. I don't know..

I honestly don't see the point in having a trash section.

To look through that board would be like looking through an actual trash can.

Without any gloves and after someone had thrown up in it and threw a dead animal in and left it for 10 years.

I sometimes take screenshot records of user's posts. This basically does the same thing, just less permanent. But yes... I agree with Chair.
