The longest I ever stayed inside was about half a year, Since I've never had a job or had to go out and buy food.

Probably a week or so. Never been in a position where I could actually withdraw from going out. Not that I'd even want to - walking around in nature and even the city, observing, can be pleasant.

I've gone nearly a year without leaving the house before. Lately, I've only been able to leave the house maybe once or twice a month, & that's only when it's unavoidable.

About 3 or 4 months, but that's basically my limit as i need a blood test every 3 months so now. Plus, i guess i've been somewhat more active of late... but i have spells. Sometimes i'll be out once a week, other times it's closer to once a month (if that).

I went through a period in my twenties where I would go out exactly once every two weeks to see my therapist. This went on for 3 years.

About 1 month, but it's hard to stay inside in long consecutive streaks I find it.

About two days, maybe three. But by outside, does that include being in the yard of your house?If not, then my answer would be 3-5 days.

Months, probably not a year because I do christmas eve with family cause there's epic food and food is awesome. I don't do christmas day with them though. Anyway this was a couple years ago, I make a lot more effort now to go to new things~ Usually alone, though.

During the past three years I have been 'outside' for 86 hours total.

Pretty much all of the Summer just gone, I would only leave my house at night. I live in between countryside and city, kind of on the edge of society, and I love to walk to the old churches, and through the valleys and parks, but only because there's hardly ever anyone around. In England, during the Summer, we get 18 hours of sunshine a day, and though I don't mind the Summer, and actually quite like many of the things that one would associate with it, I can only take so much sunshine. As such, I seem to have developed this annual habit of reversing my sleep cycle between July and September so I can be awake during the dark hours. I spent most of the August just gone eating 1am lunches in a church overlooking a national park, doing lots of creative and reclusive things in the early hours and sleeping through the day. I'm definitely an Autumn and Winter sort of person.

2008 was the pinnacle of my reclusiveness. I went for more than half the year inside the house. Especially during the summertime. I never found much reason to go outside. No school, no job, and no outgoing life of any kind. It wasn't until later that year and earlier this year that things started to change a bit. My friends started inviting more often to hangout with them and started traveling a bit more with my parents. Most of my life from that year and before still remain since my life is pretty void of anything interesting.

What counts as "stepping outside"? I go out into the backyard everyday to feed my cats. I also go out every one/two months-ish to get my haircut, but fortunately for me the hairdresser is just down the road. Other than that I haven't went out on my own since, damn, I don't even know, maybe 7 years (I'm 20). About four years ago I went to my cousins graduation party with my family, but I didn't really have a choice in that at the time.

The longest I have been inside has been 2 months. I do not know if it is long enough to be a hikikomori.

I don't quite know how it happened. I am normally very reclusive. I tend to stay inside as much as possible. I have to go to school though, it is mandatory...

So when summer came about, I simply never came out of my room. I survived on coca-cola from the mini-fridge my father had down the hall.

I have a new record, 6, 5 months!
I had to go to a meeting. (Sigh.) I had hoped to set a better record!
Well, at least I beat the old one with a couple of months...
