I've personally never understood the Last.FM phenomenon. I don't give a damn what other people listen to or think is cool, and I don't see the point in letting random people add you in order to increase your friend count. That being said, I have used the site in the past to find 'related artists'. I am really thirsty.

I don't really understand lots of internet phenomena, but Last.FM really good things going for it.

A couple of the goods things about the site are that you can meet people who share the same musical tastes as yourself and another is the fact that there are so many awesome groups on that site. The Last.FM groups are as diverse as the groups on FaceBook, but Last.FM gives you way better privacy than FaceBook offers you.

It's surprising to me that my user-name wasn't already taken considering that 'indian giver' is a pretty common expression.

Which software music do you use? You might be able to find a scrobbler plug-in for your particular music player which can allow Last.FM to keep track of each song you listen to on your computer. If there is no stand-alone plug-in, then you can download the official Last.FM scrobbler software. I personally prefer the non-official stand-alone plugin that I use for Foobar2000 as it uses up less ram, doesn't have any unnecessary features, etc.

Thank you very much for the friend request - I appreciate it greatly. I currently use Winamp to play audio files in Windows (and have used it for the past few years). I've already downloaded the Scrobbler program, which installed a Winamp plugin for me automatically. Now I just need to work out how to use the Last.FM scrobbler in Linux.
