Do you find value in your life? Do you believe you have value in others' eyes? I know it is a very vague question.


I find value in my own life. However, I frequently find myself needing to be validated by others. I feel that is one of the only means of me measuring my success. It's very debilitating. Comparing myself to a flawed society can't be healthy. I might stay depressed forever... *sigh*

I find that people generally have a poor judge of value. Actually, I don't even think "value" can be properly defined. It's just another arbitrary part of humanity.

Maybe I just tell myself that to cope however, as I doubt I have any in most people's eyes.

Personally, I believe that either everyone has equal value, or noone has value, which comes out to the same thing.

I have no value in life. I'm pretty worthless and quite a parasite and all I do is sleep and sulk so I really am nothing.

I have next to no value. When I die, I shall simply be offline forever to the lot of ya. Maybe you'll all assume I just wandered off somewhere like I tend to do.

There's time I valued myself and thought I could acheive but something (perhaps antideppresants) have made me very apathetic towards myself and others.

Of course. I am alive and life has value on its own accord. I don’t care what kind of life, a living being has value.
My greatest accomplishment is to have gained and kept my pets’ love and trust, and what’s more, deserved it, as I always have done my best to do right by them. I am loved by my family, and I try to help them and be there when needed. When I have stroked a pet and it has felt so safe it doesn’t start even if the pat was unexpected, or when I hear the warmth in my mother’s voice, or...then I know that they think so too.

Anyone else might think I’m a waste of space, and that’s fine by me. I couldn’t care less. To paraphrase a famous person (can’t remember who, I can look it up later): I will live my own life for surely I will die my own death.

Nobody really likes me so Im just a ghost, I get ignored very well so im practically not alive.

It's hard to have value when you are a hikikomori, I think. I don't think I have value in anyone's eyes. However, I often find value in myself. But that is a give or take situation.

i feel like i'm mostly just a burden.
i guess i have value in the sense that people care i'm alive. i'm sure my family and some others would cry if i dropped dead.
but if i didn't exist altogether they wouldn't be missing anything.

i can't really speak for others, but in my opinion i don't really think i do.
people tell me they like my drawings but i usually think they're just saying it to be nice.
i feel like only one of my friends actually likes me sometimes, we seem to think almost identically, if it wasnlt for that i would probably think i was completely useless.
i do however feel less like a burden since cutting myself off from people i used to know irl. i feel like i only slowed them down and i never had anything interesting to add to conversations, even when i thought i did i was just ignored.

I, myself, definitely do have value. All living things have value. But there's not much value in my life & because of that I often feel my life is worthless & meaningless.

I don't really think I have value... except to be a stepping stone for others... so maybe I do have some kind value... just not to myself.

People online would likely say that I have value, but as far as real life goes... insects contribute more than me so I really don't know how to answer that.

I don't really understand the question... Do you mean value as in the worth of a person(and if so, in what context? Self viewed worth, or community or metaphysically?), or do you mean values as in moral and ethics of a person?

I think value is not about contributing to something or being liked by someone. If you realize that there is no such thing as meaning of life, would your life become more meaningful just by associating with other people, whose life is also meaningless?
People don't have a value because they identify themselves with their mind rather than with the whole. This is a part of their animal nature. Everyone wants to be an individual and puts himself above other things.
Value is just an abstract concept of the human mind. It doesn't exist in reality.
