I might but I'll blame you if I fail school

Uhh, hello! I joined in a sort of spur-of-the-moment panic thing just before heading out for work today. I guess I've been a Hiki in the past, you could probably call me an avid recluse now. I left school very young, and there was a period of about two years where I barely left the house, except on rare occasions when I felt mentally up to it. It's only recently that I've started actually going out when I need to, before I would panic and shut myself away from the world and let other people worry about reality.

I dunno, I guess I'll be hanging around, but don't expect too many posts. o:

well, hello everyone. i am a true hiki but didnt become that way until a car wreck left me kinda crippled. now i relish this. i think its the best kept secret in the universe because although i used to function quite well in society, secretly hated everyone and now i dont have to pretend anymore. yay me.

18, American. Extremely reclusive, but not sure if I would classify myself as a hikki.
I've lived closed off from the world for a few years now. My computer and books keep me company, which is all I need, methinks.
I like techno. A lot.
Pretty much all I listen to, and making techno is for the most part, all I do.
Umm. Not sure what else to say.

Sound a bit like me; I too don't classify myself as hiki although I am pretty reclusive and like computers and books a lot. I'm usually doing something involving one or both of those.

Hola everyone! I found this forum googling hikikomori wondering if I was becoming one but after reading some posts it turns out I'm more of a recluse. This has been something I've been fighting with for about 3 years (since I've graduated highschool) and the outcomes have gone both ways. (with me losing most of em tho haha) Anyways this is my first time posting on a forum so hopefully I'll stay active.

Oh nice. What sort of techno do you listen to?

Also, what production tools do you use? I'm assuming it's software based stuff like Logic, Reason, Ableton, etc?

Saying hello,

I have been lurking for a month or so and decided to join. I am not a true hikikomori, since I have to go to work so my family and I can have money for living. I am 30 years old and live with my parents and a brother.

When I go out into the world, I feel very anxious. I rely heavily on my family members for basic things like going grocery shopping, getting car gas, etc. If I go grocery shopping, I need to have a family member come with me. My dad is gracious enough to take time out to drive me to job interviews and teach me the driving routes so I can drive myself to work if I land a job. I get lost easily.

I like to buy the basic things (soap, toothpaste, etc.) we need on the internet rather than go to the store. My favorite past-time is playing the MMO Final Fantasy XI! Lately I have been feeling physically sick--waking up with back pain, etc. , but it seems to subside as the day passes. That is all for now.
