l r scared of myself as well. The person l see in the mirror is not what l want to see.

I suppose you could call my fear of dependence a phobia. I think that's why I get depressed, and why I try to do as much as I can around the house and not ask for anything unless I just have to. Once I am out on my own, I think I will be a much happier person.

Believe it or not I am terrified of dogs. I freak out if one comes up to sniff me. >.> that is what happens when a dog opens a door and bites you in the ass....

People are without a doubt my biggest phobia. It's the only fear of mine that interferes with and controls how I live my life.

People. Especially in semi-large groups. Like, for example, 12 people sitting around a dinner table = nightmare!

Other than that my only fears really are spiders (especially tiny ones) and anything with a mouth bigger than my head...

Strangely, I have very little fear of people. I love public speaking, I don't mind strangers or people staring because I know I stare a lot without thinking about it just because my eyes have nowhere to rest. I'm not afraid of axe murderers, or rapists, or any of that shit. I don't like talking on the phone, though, because I'm worried I'll offend someone by having my words misconstrued. I guess I also don't like bothering people, but I figure that is common courtesy.

However, I am terrified of:

-Seizures
-Pandemics
-Biological warfare
-Getting Alzheimer's and not being killed before it gets me entirely/dementia
-Blood clots
-Heart attacks
-Strokes
-Sudden-onset allergies, or allergies I'm unaware of
-Sudden, inexplicable pulmonary failure
-Food-borne disease
-Meningitis
-Slowly dying alone of a horrible disease that leaves me unable to call for help
-Negative spiritual entities, mostly shadow-people and malevolent non-human spirits, though the thought of ill-intentioned aliens also makes me very worried
-Poison gas

Poison gas is one of the worst. Every time my anxiety starts to flare up I usually hyperventilate which makes my throat hurt which makes me convinced the room/house I'm in is slowly being filled with an odorless, colorless gas. I was literally unable to sleep in my dorm rooms in college without a window open to vent any possible gases. The only way I can sleep with a window closed at home is because I have a carbon monoxide detector literally right next to my bed, and another in the hall outside my room. Sometimes it's not enough, though, and I sneak the window open anyway. When it gets really bad at home, I'll usually be hiding in my room directly next to the window, with every single other window on the upper floor open, regardless of temperature.

I know it's an illogical fear, and a stupid fear. I intellectually know that the odds of me being killed by poison gas is very, very low. However, it doesn't seem to help my anxiety about it at all. I've ended up fleeing from classes because of being convinced the building/room was filling with gas and that everyone would suddenly drop dead. I've also skipped class/left class over fear of disease...if there are a lot of people coughing or looking ill in one of my classes, I can't stand sitting there any longer usually and slip out to the bathroom and don't return. I wish everyone in America would be like the people in Asia and at least have the courtesy to wear face masks when they're sick...at least fear of dying of a pandemic is slightly more reasonable than poison gas.

Okay, I admit, I'm slightly afraid of those things too.

Why be afraid of people when you could be afraid of things invisivble to the naked eye ending up in your mouth and giving you a horrible disease that will destroy your intestinal system and give you a fever so bad you'll literally roast yourself to death?

I can't find time to be afraid of people with all the other, more terrible things out there to be afraid of.

Right now... Currently.... posting in the "gayest thing you've done thread". I keep telling myself to post, post, post, damnit, but I keep closing that thread.... because besides attempting to watch "Rent", which I couldn't endure, I've done something so gay it beats anything posted on there.
